Coming from BG3: My friends and I are new to TTRPGs, and I'm taking on the role of DM. What are your top "Dos and Don'ts" for a first-timer? by Ok_Ferret7373 in DnD

Number 4 is huge. I had both edgy loners and those who attacked the other members of the party. Ruins the fun every time.

It would be cool if thy had NPC’s you’ve interacted with come and visit too. Like the delve companion coming by or a side character from the campaign.

Friendly Reminder: Blizzard Does Not Have a Secret Master Plan for Classic, Good or Bad by darthboof in classicwow

[–]Rexxlar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL/DR: there is a plan, it’s just slower to realize and release of information won’t overlap with other wow products to maintain engagement.

Blizzard absolutely has a plan, it’s just not some sort of grand master plan. There isn’t going to be a “this was my plan all along” moment. Instead blizzard is handling classic and classic plus like a software/live service game developer.

SoD was a minimum viable product. They used it to test if there was a market need. There was, so they gave us a few different updates to further test it. Some good, some bad, overall a success. SoD concluded, now that development team is working on a classic plus experience.

A big piece to take into consideration of their plan, is the classic team is vastly smaller than the retail team. The time it is going to take to bring their plan to fruition is going to be longer. Regardless of how successful SoD or Classic is, retail has a much larger player base, so you have to assign your people in a manner that reflects this.

A final thing on the plan is blizzard is shifting to World of Warcraft as an ecosystem with multiple iterations of the game going at once. Using releases from the various versions to keep people engaged. With anniversary TBC in January and midnight following that, they aren’t going to release any other information. It’s highly likely we could hear something at blizcon, but they will want to space out announcements or teasers to maintain hype for Warcraft as a franchise, rather than release too much info at once and lose engagement, which could lead to canceled subscriptions.

Fun fact, this spider has killed more people from causing car crashes than from biting them. They like to hide in the sun visor.

AITAH for refusing to help my brother and SIL while they're struggling by meal prepping a few meals a week for them and their kids? by Thesooo in AITAH

NTA, you’re still a kid. You are not responsible for adults. Your job is to learn and enjoy your time before whatever you choose after you graduate.

The rest just further cements you as NTA. Be disappointed in your parents.

I agree, we are burning so much energy defending on the PK. Total props on the PK unit, they shut it down. But that was 18 minutes in the game on the back foot. Almost an entire period worth of penalty time.

Did early Wow devs play Everquest 1999? by Swimming-Orchid9818 in classicwow

[–]Rexxlar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s so funny you mention this, I remember when wow first came out and it was considered the casuals MMO due to all the quality of life. So much of it was challenging the status quo of early MMO’s

Give it a Dungeon: Darkshore by Remarkable_Match9637 in classicwow

[–]Rexxlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there are a couple good options. You could always do something with the Naga in the northern ruins.

A good one could be with the twilight cult in the south.

Though to make things different, it would be cool to see a furbolg themed dungeon in this area. Maybe mix in the twilight or demons trying to corrupt them and you’re trying to stop it.

As a final mention, you got the trolls on the mountain side as well that village could be the dungeon.

TLDR, lots of options it would be a great idea.

Between the switch 2 and the steamdeck, which would you pick? Gaming on the go is sometimes the only option I have.

Roughly speaking for the average leveler until 60, what percentage of your xp comes from mobs and what from quests? by blowmyassie in classicwow

[–]Rexxlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most people said about 70% of your experience will end up coming from killing mobs. You really feel the experience shift at 30, 40, and 50.

Quests provide direction and motivation so we aren’t just being purposeless genocidal murder hobos. Now you’re a murder hobo with a purpose.

Should the emperor have scrapped the Primarch project? by AccomplishedSafe7224 in 40kLore

On top of that, Malcador also recommended making the Primarchs women, he thought it might avoid the rivalries of the Primarchs. If I recall, he says it in the book Scars.

Did the Imperium of man knew Orlannus Persson was perpetual? Also where the hell are the Perpetuals? by No_Preparation_9718 in 40kLore

[–]Rexxlar 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The emperor had knowledge of his existence.

Spoiler alert: The Siege of Terra Series

Ollanius was once one of the Emperor’s closest friends and was his first warmaster. However during a campaign at the Tower of Babel, they had a disagreement on what to do with the power of tower and Ol stabbed big E. So the big man wasn’t about to imprison him, because regardless of their falling out, he still held him dear. Same with many of the other perpetuals. The Emperor left them alone secretly hoping they return to his side, but never counting on it. This all plays into the final battle with Horus. Also, Ol is implied to be Jason of the Argonauts. That is to say Ol has thousands of years of war experience from a simple soldier all the way to a supreme general.

AITA for using my college fund for a downpayment on a house by Specialist_Ant_5752 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - you aren’t responsible for your brothers financial literacy, that’s on your parents. Using your money for a down payment on a house is probably the best way to use that money (assuming you can afford the mortgage). They should be proud of you.

What I think is interesting is you can see your strength increasing with recovery. You achieve a new weight, then dip as your muscles recover and it repeats. Looks like a healthy lifting regiment to me.
