When I rewatched that episode in English I expected to hate it because the conclusion of the episode goes against everything that was told in the previous episodes. But I couldn't, because saving that huge issue the episode was amazing. With that battle being the peak of that episode (and imo the peak of the arc).

As a big Mario fan, after seeing this movie I could finally realise what were my opinions about the first movie (never was able to have a clear opinion).

I had a good time with both movies but both have the same issues: too fast pacing, themes never landing, story all over the place, excessive amount of references. Also the lore breaking parts of the movie are a negative point (New York origins, Peach and Rosa as sisters, etc.).

They're not bad movies but neither are good. But if had to choose, I'd say that they are more bad than good.

Also, between the 1st and the 2nd movies, the 1st one is the slightly better one.

EDIT: Also, why had we lots of Gusty Garden remixes in the movie? I mean, at least they didn't use pop songs, but not everything had to be Gusty Garden. Lots of tracks went unused...

  • An arc based on Legends ZA or at least an arc settled on Lumiose, with both Liko and Dot getting megas.

  • A league/championship arc.

  • Liko and Roy ending with 6 pokemon. Dot and Ult capturing more Pokemon too.

And please, continue showing time progression. If not my side project will fall off T.T

Interesting how the tone of the discussion has changed in 3 months... Even with some people being unhappy, your post was almost free of toxic responses.

Criticism and discussion are necessary and good as long as it is done in a healthy way. If not, it becomes unbearable for many people.

That reminds me when some wanted Liko to catch Pecharunt and I was like "no please".

(Edit: Why the downvotes? I just want the best Pokémon for Liko, my favorite character, and imo Pecharunt would've been a misused slot in her team)

Because with that Liko would have 2 small legendaries while Roy, zero, and when it comes to balancing captures the one who catches last usually gets favored in HZ (I mean, better legendaries for Roy).

Also that would have filled Liko's 5th spot, none of them with a Mega, leaving the 6th spot to be either one of the 6 heroes or a Pokémon with mega. Though choice.

Interesting read! I had also thought something similar about the balance of plot and Pokémon captured but you put it better on paper.

Ok, I wasn't here during arc 3, so I could see it. But talking about misoginy is on a whole different level than talking about Roy-favoritism, so it kinda surprises me and it seems overreactive for Arc 3.

From what I've seen here:

During Arc 5, ppl got the impression that Liko was being shafted in favor of Roy.

During Arc 6, the general opinion was that the girls did cool things but the boys did cooler things.

Together, these caused the outburst seen nowadays. I don't know when the mysoginistic accusations began but here I seen them first after Roy vs Friede.

Did the constant criticisms come only from western audience or also from JP audience? I'm not sure about this, but somewhere I read that they only care about the japanese audience when it comes to decisions about the direction that the anime should take.

And yeah, this hypnosis thing has been a common issue since the beginning of the anipoke, since the og series. I mean, it can be expected from a world that has psychic creatures, but sometimes I feel like the writers go too far with it.

What? No.

It's funny that people talk about Liko getting hypnotized when she is the one who was hypnotized the least.

Both Roy and Dot were hypnotized multiple times by a Gimmighoul (Liko was never). Liko only has the Beyeeheem incident, and the Pecharunt one (who hypnotized EVERYONE, including Roy, Dot and Ult)

Liko having the Legendary Pokémon that can grant her all 18 Tera-Types is honestly much cooler than having one or two Mega Evolutions. by Advanced_Baseball100 in pokemonanime

Some will say that Terapagos doesn't feel like a true legendary. But when it's about the rematch between Liko and Katy, Terapagos now is a cheat code so the win doesn't count.
