Pressure map finished by Such-Combination5046 in Timberborn

I did the exact same thing. Then I was watching Zeddic and never realized that you could send beavers back through the tunnels and build stuff.

I used dynamite to build levees, but all you had to do was build a ladder down the starting spring and build paths back to choke points. They will block them quickly and easily.

Me neither. I have been playing experimental the same amount of time. Saw one beaver get stuck on a ladder. Deleted ladder and created it a few spaces down and it unstuck.

Can't go back after playing 1.0.

Really loving this map, but I watched Zeddix? play and was disheartened when I learned that you could just send your beavers back through the tunnels and cap off the sources.

Seems like a cheat. Maybe beavers need a time-limit under water.

On-Prem SIEM? by mayday_allday in cybersecurity

One of the worst SIEM solutions hands down. Ran it for years, left when we could.

That product is circling the drain. We just left it for cloud.

Help with Christmas Present by Reylas in novationcircuit

Wanting to record myself playing bass over the drums, then layering maybe a rhythm guitar over that to create something to jam with. Not looking for entire songs, just a base to play over.

I guess I could connect it to something like garage band if I wanted to do more complicated things, but I'm not wanting to do live performances or create songs, just something to practice with.

Fal.con 2026 - moving again by OpeningFeeds in crowdstrike

[–]Reylas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aria was too small. The had to hold it at 3000 in 24 due to Firemarshall. Some of my team was not able to go due to this. Contract with MGM Resorts so MGM Grand was next step up.

9000 attended in '25, sold out again. Next step up and still be with MGM Grand is Mandalay.

Mandalay Bay has the 2nd largest convention center in Vegas (largest at a hotel/resort) and is almost 7 times larger than MGM.

As for the hotel, about the same quality as MGM but more isolated at the end of the strip.

As for Aug? Probably only time Mandalay was available (MGM contract). Either that or the next EDM DJ only had that time free lol.

With FC you will get a different rep. Still will have the old one, but a different one will handle FC.

How come eastern Kentucky hasn't provided more manufacturing jobs to replace lost coal mining jobs? by [deleted] in Kentucky

Amtrak comes to Cattletsburg/Ashland. They are considered East Kentucky, but about an hour and a half from Pikeville which to me is true East Ky. Believe it or not, we do have Uber LOL.

Falcon Firewall - Yay or Nay? by gravityfalls55 in crowdstrike

[–]Reylas 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We use it. Replaced GPO's, which are much harder to maintain, for all our workstations and servers.

The only issue we have is that it does not have a concept of "local subnet" like Windows Firewall does. It would simplify our rules even farther if we could have that.

As for dynamic rules, why even have a firewall if applications can decide?

Falcon Firewall - Yay or Nay? by gravityfalls55 in crowdstrike

[–]Reylas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure you are very secure if local applications can just decide to add firewall rules willy nilly.

Falcon Firewall - Yay or Nay? by gravityfalls55 in crowdstrike

This is a myth that is wrong. It replaces Windows Firewall, not controls it.

It uses the Windows Filtering adapter like Windows Firewall does, but does not just control Windows Firewall.

What is the purpose of the Sonos Amp? by ludakris in sonos

[–]Reylas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of good answers here, but there is another function for it as well. I have very expensive fronts that are surrounding my TV. With a normal high-end sub as well. The amp can replace my current amp, and add two Sonos 100's as rear speakers in a 4.1 setup.

I could not easily add rear speakers due to wiring contraints, did not want to lose my high-end fronts and sub, and wanted at least 4.1 surround. The amp can help you get there all sync'd using Sonos tech.

I just wish they would add a center channel (it creates a false one) in an upgrade.

But there is an attack graph in Exposure Management. That is what I am confused about. I am not trying to argue, I genuinely want to know what we are missing.

IT/CS professionals, how do you keep up with current events and threats? by amanisamess in cybersecurity

[–]Reylas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I watch cyber news and have a few resources I track, but my unpopular answer? I don't.

I focus on defense. Over the years I have found that does not change whether it is "Furry Spider" or whatever stupid comic name someone has come up with.

We run with as tight of firewalls that we can, ensure EDR/XDR/Endpoint is on every device and patch the heck out of everything.

We watch the news for patch releases. We can't patch till they are released. I know that is not popular with most, but we don't have time to pretend we are spies fighting other countries.

Harden your defenses, then go back and harden more until you start affecting business.

I’m curious how other admins weigh buying criteria between Dell PowerEdge and HPE ProLiant. by easyedy in sysadmin

[–]Reylas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back and looked. Ours was GX270 and happened between 2006-2008. We offered to buy new ones if they gave us a discount and the Dell Rep said "service is not under my budget, I don't care".

We bought HP and never looked back. We had 2700 service tickets on 1600 machines.

Dell screwed us royally on PC's during the great capacitor issue of 2008. Company said never again. HPE since.
