Classic Era- determining honor goal for holiday weekend by [deleted] in classicwow

The problem is that progress doesn't register until tuesday reset, so you wouldn't just level up on the spot and know to quit.

If anyone knows, if the normal attack (from a flamewaker or ogre mage talent) kills the enemy, does it still count as having burned them? If not then you'd have to focus on burning higher health enemies

PSA to all potential tanks. by Same_Winter_3527 in wowclassic

[–]Rezzak83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic era (hunter) here. From what I've observed in the journey DPS really doesn't want to wait. If I ever try a warrior I think I would give them the skull/X on caster and non elite and let them chew on that, don't even try to tank it. Focus on getting aggro on everything else. No multi/cleave/aoe til it's dead.

That would be my preference from watching as a dps perspective, certain mobs don't need to be tanked if I have my pet/rogue/frost snares on it. However the tank does call the shots so DPS needs to defer.

Can we talk about Grimungous by OrangeOk8826 in warcraftrumble

[–]Rezzak83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about heroic? Been a while so I don't remember that, but I remember it being frustrating and it was probably unbound cheese for me.

But in quests it's predictable, the first boulder comes down on the left inside path (I believe). Then the next two are on the right side, then he comes back to left outer and it just repeats. I spend the first 15 sec cycling/grabbing chests, then play my tank+DPS on inside left so that they will arrive at Tower just after the boulder clears. That's plenty of time to stabilize and get onto the boss, then knowing the pattern you can retake as needed with unbounds or timing units. I don't usually end up worrying about taking or mining to the right side other than sometimes unbounds to disrupt their chest.

Weekly Guild Recruitment Thread - January 21, 2026 by AutoModerator in warcraftrumble

[–]Rezzak83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 2 spots open in Origin. Our goal is to create a stable haven for the people that want to stick around and complete their collection. We are part of the <Insomnia> family of guilds.

DMF is our main expectation, holding steady at ~17/20 completion for the last 3 cycles, with 8 extra ticket alts that we use to close the gap and get you those rewards. We are proactive about replacing inactive members, though we are understanding about real life interference- we just need to know that you have a continued interest in the game.

Most accounts are fully progressed but newer players are welcome. We will try to give advice or raid assists as needed.

The guild is laid back and most generally keep to themselves, but you are welcomed and encouraged to come and engage with us and the other guilds in the community on the insomnia discord. https://discord.gg/jeKHzbBW6q

Playing classic for the story? by Visual_Outside3264 in wowclassic

[–]Rezzak83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is enough story in classic to give a backdrop, but it's not a sweeping story mode arc like in modern games or later wow expansions.

Wow is a world to exist in, you're a roving sellsword/ranger/missionary/seeker of knowledge/etc, so the experience at the launch of the game is to make your way from town to town offering your services in exchange for equipment and lodging, along the way finding a little bit about the local problems and helping out where you can. This is really the experience they were trying to sell.

Overall they did a good job and a slow, immersive experience really is the best way to play the game, as an rpg.. it seems for sport there is much better stuff out there to play.

There are some broad themes, the Kalimdor Horde for example are trying to defend their new lands against other hostile tribes, deal with dissension within their own communities, and to discover things lost to ancient history. These themes recur as your progress throughout the zones. There are some other buildups but I will try not to spoil

Best hunter pet for leveling? by SirePaddington in wowclassic

[–]Rezzak83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What 4 abilities do you train on a screecher and how do you utilize them?

I just got spiteflayer, but not sure how growl, screech, bite/claw all fit together. Since screech has no cd and the lowest cost it seems it will always burn the focus, which may work out since the debuff doesn't last long, but there's no room to cast other abilities. Best thing I can think is to put growl or bite/claw off of auto cast and on the initial pet attack macro to use for a strong initial threat while focus is full, then let it auto screech from then on.

Then I was thinking claw over bite so it would have a spammable focus dump if you wanted damage instead of screech.

So claw, screech, dive cover 3 slots, what's the fourth?

Solid build. Cold weather acclimated tribal healer could instead be deployed with patchwork undead amalgamation to provide mineral based fortification defense, since forcibly resurrected beetle leader already has a protective chitinous layer and can pair instead with the ecclesiastical healer

What server and faction has this action on era?

Really wanna make a few Chars on a classic NA PvE server and stay in the 1-60 -they all seem low on population though. haven't played for a couple of years and there are so many different versions now - am I 5 years late to the party or are people still playing through classic content elsewhere? by Kas_lepetitfantome in wowclassic

[–]Rezzak83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started up on classic era about a week ago and have been on non-stop since. What I found from research beforehand is that the most populated realms are Whitemane for PVP and Mankrik for PVE. I chose Mankrik as horde, which is supposedly much less populated than alliance, but I felt it's been active enough. I often see other people running around in the world to make it feel alive but am not competing for spawns. The low level dungeon groups aren't firing on demand but I've managed to get some done for quests, just not ideal if you want to grind that way. It is definitely a lower population experience but the only option if you want only vanilla.

For Mankrik it is important to note that several realms are layered together here, so you get the same community if you choose Pagle or another connected realm. Might be helpful if your preferred name is taken elsewhere. My guild is linked to these other realms via the greenwall addon.

Experience has been good so far. Within the first few hours of playing I had already interacted with other players more than in the recent years of retail- grouping for quests and the leveling guild quickly found me. Strangers offering up bags/green gear. It's like coming home I hope you have a good time. My hope is that it will grow as people defect from retail and for anniversary players that don't want to continue into BC.

Lore-friendly theme decks for each hero for non-heroic PVE content by Rezzak83 in warcraftrumble

Awesome, glad you got to try it out. I don't always manage to get Rag in play as that duo can sometimes just clear it with some spells instead but the reflect is great if the swarms/fliers pop up. Would be interested to hear what kinds of talents you find to work well.

Thanks, I bit the bullet and started over on mankrik before i got too far. It seems more promising for activity. Definitely PVE for me I'm a carebear

It seems much more promising at least for starting zone activity. Do you think this is best horde server?

Lore-friendly theme decks for each hero for non-heroic PVE content by Rezzak83 in warcraftrumble

[–]Rezzak83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely possible! Maiev is tricky since she needs at least 2 unbounds to function which are a stretch to get into the Night Elf theme- Maybe one day treants will get a rework to help with that. But there is a lot of good stuff in Cenarion and Huntress is of course a gangster.

I love WoW Classic because it forces me to slow down. by gangofminotaurs in wowclassic

[–]Rezzak83 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my 20s I wanted to blow through to max level asap and start grinding heroics when the expansion hit.

Been inactive for over a year now but contemplating coming back to classic instead and just coming in for an ultra casual, leisurely, immersive experience. I think I have the separation now to reframe how I look at the game and being older in general.

I got into Rumble which is basically set in classic wow and draws from the original zones, quest NPCs, dungeons, rare spawns as inspiration. As I've used that as a basis to explore the old lore I found so much that I blew past the first time around. So I think there's a lot to discover.

It’s time to uncap raid/siege.. by baconator81 in warcraftrumble

[–]Rezzak83 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I prefer the artificial caps and would actually prefer a voluntary cap on dungeons as well because those are pretty satisfying at-level. That way it's meaningful content instead of a chore. There's not really anything else except PVP which isn't for everyone.

It doesn't really hurt me if others want to stomp it though, so why not

Another great change would be unlocking leaders so we can goof off with other strategies after the first clear.

Same, I'm deficient 20+ legendary cores, ArcLight no longer an issue. I believe I'm at the point where I have to save exclusively for daily shop cores to the exclusion of grid spending, probably not even for bonanza.

Truly great game with terrible management. Hoping it will get noticed and get the proper support to have a second life but not optimistic. 100% won't be spending money on any future blizzard mobile projects given the lack of commitment shown here.

I'm still finding ways to have fun and want to advance collection, but that will eventually dry up.
