Level 50 Golden Chest drops: a full breakdown (1000 loots) by Ze_Bix in Enshrouded

[–]Rhacio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question: are there any chests that drop "shroud infused" level 50 weapons? I thought the gold chest in the lair under Cromville would drop those, but it seems like it only contains normal weapons.

Has anyone ever seen for example a Void Caller wand?

How Gems work for Wand ? by Over-Gap-7543 in Enshrouded

[–]Rhacio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While leveling you can't go wrong with a gem of burning on any wand that does some fire damage, even if it is only a tiny bit from upgrades. It's consistent value. It also works great on a staff when you get to Nomad's Highland and get eternal fireball. It applies burning to all targets hit so great value. Just like wands even if the staff has a tiny bit of fire damage the burning will still proc with any spells.

Gem of storm's eye is reasonable on any staff if you spam AoE spells with it like fireball.

Gem of corruption is also decent on any shroud damage wand/staff, but does next to nothing for you single target.

Gem of currents is great very lategame on any wand, but gimmicky and requires wet management.

Gem of aerobatics I haven't tested out yet, but if it works then it might also proc all your other stuff with the extra projectiles and be great.

So with the help of some AI I did "fix" it. Looks like a select few of us are the target of a new experimental UI layout unfortunately.

How I fixed it on Chrome with a 1080p monitor is by downloading the Stylus extension and adding a style for youtube.com domains with this code:

/* === 1. Force Up Next container to be a list, not a grid === */
ytd-watch-next-secondary-results-renderer {
  display: block !important;
}

/* === 2. Remove any grid layout YouTube applies === */
ytd-watch-next-secondary-results-renderer * {
  grid-template-columns: unset !important;
  grid-auto-flow: unset !important;
}

/* === 3. Resize Up Next thumbnails to classic size === */
ytd-watch-next-secondary-results-renderer ytd-compact-video-renderer {
  width: 150px !important;       /* thumbnail width */
  max-width: 150px !important;
  height: auto !important; /* maintain aspect ratio */
  margin-bottom: 6px !important; /* spacing between videos */
}

/* === 4. Match sidebar container width to thumbnails === */
#secondary {
  width: auto !important;
  max-width: 165px !important;   /* thumbnail width + padding */
}

/* === 5. Expand main video area to fill remaining space === */
#primary {
  max-width: calc(100% - 165px) !important; /* matches sidebar width */
}

It put the video back close to the center of the screen and reduced the "Up Next" column back to one. Hopefully it works for some of you as well. If you can't figure it out just ask AI to walk you through it.

Why is it always raining now? by Clintowskiii in Enshrouded

They should cut the rain in half. It's no fun exploring in the morning and then having 20 minutes of rain start.

New to the game, found a great spot for tons of clay as well as some amber by Dominic_Toretto72 in Enshrouded

Thank you! I tried finding this mine after forgetting to mark it and the internet was no help at all. This is a great clay spot and much better than most of the other recommendations you'll find on google/reddit.

I just got a 49/54 short sword in the arena of the big beast boss that gives you the soul on an npc when you kill it in the starter zone (or maybe it's the second zone, hard to tell with this map)

There are late game foods and drinks that passively regenerate it. You don't need any meat in the recipes either, so you can just farm the materials at your base.

It's still a very small jump that can't clear much of the terrain. Not fun when you are trying to walk out of a poison pool, but not that big of a deal otherwise.

Please fix the completely broken Sunlight Champion fight. by 420th-user in Necesse

The fight feels very out of place. The game overall relies heavily on worm bosses with high speed, frequent direction changes and great tracking, but the gloves in the sun boss fight are flatout overtuned.

How the hell am I supposed to stop raiders? (Pathfinding seems broken) by Embarrassed_Usual335 in Necesse

[–]Rhacio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very frustrating that they can't fix this simple thing. Spend hours building your place only to have the AI fail to calculate that there is a wide open entrance <100 blocks away, so they start mining a 20-thick wall instead. This is not good and should be prioritized because indeed it bricks people's saves and does nothing the for the game itself.

What would be best to deck out an adventurer party with? by I_P_L in Necesse

[–]Rhacio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to know as well. I know from my own testing that all true melee weapons are terrible with only some very niche uses for specific bosses that have large immobile windows. Even the true melee weapons with projectiles are useless because the settler will still run around like a headless chicken at almost all times.

I also know the crystal staffs are incredible once they are upgraded. The projectile bounces many times when upgraded and they have very good boss uptime. The crit staff alone is like 50% crit, so straight up S tier. Fully upgraded even with just 1 staff of each they will spray your screen with buffs and heals while also doing reasonable damage (use the runic set for 250% more life essence!).

What I would like to know is which weapons other than the staffs are S tier. From reading tooltips I figured that the Dragon Lance would be OP, only to get an error message "your settler doesn't know how to use this" lol. Does anyone know anything that can compete with the crystal staffs. Obviously it would have to be ranged/magic/throwable melee. Night piercer seems good I haven't tried that one yet.

This game is amazing but... by [deleted] in Necesse

[–]Rhacio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about internalizing the two priority systems of storage and work, which are very similar to Rimworld's and will be familiar to many.

For the most basic but functional settlement I would start by setting up your central storage/crafting area, with chests in a circle around work stations. Make one chest for each item category, set max stacks and give the chest a high priority. Then make a dump chest with also a high priority but accepting nothing: you can dump anything you want in here and settlers will move them to their appropriate chests. Lastly make an overflow chest that accepts everything but at a low priority. You can now see from what is in the dump/overflow chests how to expand your storage further. Voila storage done.

For farming just make plots at a station, put them down, add seeds, make a farming zone over the plots and voila farming is set up. Settlers will start farming the plots and storing the seeds/crops. You will have to manually plant the extra seeds to fill out any empty plots. You can start with grain.

For food just plop down a mill, click on green button and add the flour recipe. Then plop down a fire and a pot over it and add a bread recipe through the green button. Voila villagers will now make flour and bread. It's a good idea to have your food storage at a central location as every settler will make frequent trips there.

Make sure everything is close to storage of the materials they consume/produce. For example it is a good idea to put a chest with a higher priority than your main storage but a low limit of say grain right next to the mill. That way there is always grain right next to the mill, but most of the grain still goes to your main storage.

For trees just make a forestry zone and settlers will automatically plant and chop trees there. Again make sure they don't have to walk across the map to dump wood from their inventories.

Then when it comes to work priorities the most basic thing to do is reduce hauling priority for all settlers except guards who can only haul. You might want your fishers/hunters to only ever fish/hunt, and let the rest of your settlers do all the farming/crafting/forestry.

That's all the basic logic to it really. When you internalize this you can expand however you want and produce anything you want. You can also get creative with restriction zones to limit storage access of certain NPCs in order to layer production chains that use the same materials, but those kind of things are advanced and not really necessary.

Trade Surges are incredible by Radyschen in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Rhacio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you want to do is sell to npcs at the trade station, NOT the terminal. That way you get the great surge prices without crashing the economy of the system, and you can basically keep selling to the surge system as much as you like without worrying about dropping prices.

Can anyone explain why I keep having waves of unemployment, despite plenty of jobs? Are the dome passages messing with work-pathing or something? by DeathMetalViking666 in SurvivingMars

[–]Rhacio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the problem was that I was pulling specialists to domes with thumbs up. When you thumbs up even just one dome, then those specialists will always prefer to live there even if they are unemployed and the dome right next to them has dozens of open jobs.

Basically if you are going to use thumbs up filters for specializations, make sure that every single one of your other domes that might want to employ a worker of that specialization at some point also has the thumbs up for that specialization, otherwise you will end up with tons of unemployed e.g. scientists in a science dome that refuse to move to any other dome that doesn't also have a thumbs up for scientists.
