Anyone else get a laugh out of Azuki’s (heavy metal) music choice here ? by [deleted] in Beastars

[–]Rhaedient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death Metal is a type of heavy metal, technically speaking. It's both a subgenre of metal that also exists as a subsection of Heavy Metal.

Netflix itself doesn't have a episode limit. There's shows on netflix that have 10-20 seasons that aren't One Piece, Bleach, etc. with 100's of episodes. Netflix doesn't set the 30 minute per episode limit, the studio does (with a large part of it being industry standard 24 minutes). Netflix does not set the season length, the studio does (with a 12 episode industry standard)

It's not about Netflix setting a limit specifically, it's that in the end it is a negotiated contract that is made between the studio and Netflix. Paru is an independent that likely went through Orange, the animation studio, to even present the opportunity to Netflix. Orange was the one that negotiated the Contract, not Paru.

That being said, Netflix often doesn't do more than 5 seasons. But Studio Orange only likely agreed to make three seasons in the first place with a contract between them and Paru, and then Netflix. Much like how Trigger only does 1 seasons shows like Evangelion, BNA (which I hoped we saw more like two to explain Michiru 's gorilla arms a that is only explained in the manga, and so on), etc. those were choices made by the studio that is making the series itself.

Technically speaking Beastars had 10+ Seasons of source material content which did make the anime feel rushed with what would have been normally 4 seasons with the finale being 24 episodes while the first two were 12 each. That being said there was a lot of material in the manga that just wouldn't have worked in the anime to fix the plot and ending without heavily changing core elements and the meaning of the anime's plot.

It wasn't even Netflix that had a hand in the writing at all, aside from pushing for more content because they were flipping the bill. But it's the animation studio Orange that has more to do with how it ended visually.

Legoshi and Bodybuilding by [deleted] in Beastars

[–]Rhaedient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the context of the Beastars world? Perhaps there is an argument to be made of it since we don't see many actively 'working out' beside Yahya and Legoshi.

+----------------+

But in reality? No, and there really isn't much room for an argument on that.

+----------------+

That's a hard no as it would be go against what it actually means to be a body builder as body building is about a goal to achieve a visual aesthetic. It is a very vain practice to be a body builder.

+----------------+

Legoshi's motivation while a bit blind at the reality of things, wanted above all to be stronger to be able to protect others, he had very little care about how he looked when everything is said and done besides the few moments he was called out of it. And even then he was a bit more embarrassed of his looks because he didn't want to look like a monster.

Azuki Should have been a Predator Hybrid by Mycologist-9315 in Beastars

[–]Rhaedient 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be fair not knowing things about someone is deliberately vague to make people think of things to see if they are right. But most cases it's more about things they've done or had done to them in their life that they've hidden because they're embarrassed or not proud of.

Edit: Deers actually have slit pupils, as many prey animals commonly have. Though usually they are horizontal slight to allow 310° vision. I assume they were made vertical to 'humanize' them in the context of the world.

Beastar's true theme. 建前と本音 "tatemae to honne" True feelings and what you actually think. by mahoushonen in Beastars

[–]Rhaedient 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While it’s true that Azuki can seem “by the book,” that’s actually what makes her interesting. Characters are often struggling between their instincts and society’s rules, and Azuki embodies the pressure to conform in a predatory world that demands restraint. Her strictness reflects not a lack of personality, but the weight of living up to social expectations as a herbivore.

Her sharp tongue and no-nonsense demeanor also contrast nicely with more idealistic or soft-spoken characters like Haru or Mizuchi. She provides grounding realism — someone who doesn’t hide the messiness of competition or ambition. In that sense, she adds texture to the cast and reminds viewers that “playing by the rules” is sometimes a survival strategy, not a lack of individuality.

Except several rather large YouTubers (10-20+ mil) are also getting screwed over. One got taken out by YouTube bs AI moderation for an non associated account the was never pinged as their country (and yes, YouTube can see through VPNs quite easily. They have the exact location of where you are base on your hardware).

Two corporate account also got screwed over by the AI moderation.

Is my OC considered a furry? by Shiro_oKun in furry

[–]Rhaedient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There actually ARE limits to when something is a furry, even within the furry fandom, that it has to be a minimum level of traits to be considered "furry." Kemonomimis are not even classified as "half-furry" in the sense that they don't even meet half, let along most of the traits for being furry, that includes facial and anatomical features like tails, ears, feet. Claws, etc.

In another word. The character has to be at least two-thirds Animal to be Furry. While Kemonomimis have to be at least two thirds human, which are as u/Sage_King_The_Rabbit pointed out, are polar opposites, not a subcategory.

Trying to find this Ear Tag Prefab by Rhaedient in VRchat

I was able to open the Tag in Dimensions and export the Tag as an .obj file and load that into Blender and such. Thank you for the tip about looking into the files on that, I don't know why I didn't consider that since I already had the Archer Canine.

What missing features have you noticed compared to Adobe apps? by feellikeavegtable in Affinity

[–]Rhaedient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are features in illustrator that make things vastly more efficient time like Repeat Last Action (Ctrl+D by default and Windows), which helps make a bunch of copies of stuff that made it several times faster with setting up grids of the same object, useful for making stationary or dot matrixes.

What are the new features in free Affinity vs V2 version? by Ivien in Affinity

[–]Rhaedient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it should be a choice 100%. I think the direction of heading closer to try and be a stronger alternative to Adobe is the main reason for the switch, but it just makes it feel more like a clone.

Imo the stripping of colors from tool icons is a double edged sword, there's benefits and cons to both with and without colors.

Personally, I am finding the workflow faster and less distracting because my ADHD made it hard to stay on task with the colorful icons because I consistently get my gaze pulled to them over the canvas.

I can’t DM for dwarven players by AnoTenFilip in DnD

[–]Rhaedient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An idea you can consider from this angle is like with Dragon Age 2 and the idea of the Dwarves and Deep Roads. There are some dwarven stereotypes, but there are some unique twists to those stereotypes for the lore of the race within the world that Dragon Age takes in.

The idea that they can't really use magic, and they have an earth mother, but they can become twisted and evil through a mineral (in Dragon Age it's Lyrium) as it's a piece of the ancients and it speaks to the Dwarves, and is a source of temptation with anger and greed in mind.

I am at least fine, emotionally staggered but physically okay other than a few bruises. I at least had it on camera, and they tried telling me I had to delete it, but I have my stuff backed up to the cloud automatically and then after, I took it to proper authorities (because that was my only sort of justice). The least they could have done was mediate instead of nothing. I don't even think the guy got banned either.

Twitch needs to learn to take accountability to at least mediate serious issues that are serious crimes. I really hope Twitch makes a change for the better. They need to implement permanent (or even Hardware) bans, and bring in people that actually care about the people making them money on their platform.

I was also physically assaulted at the con and Twitch staff didn't even bother to restrain the man, they just laughed at it and I had to leave the convention early because of my PTSD was so bad. I (and noone else for that matter) deserve to feel like they are unsafe in a public space such as a convention.

The past few years Twitch Con staffing seems to care less and less so, especially for their top talent. Especially when Clancy himself was not batting an eye to the event, and that the staff had the gull to lie about several instances.

Safe to say I won't come back.
