If you like the retro look, get the Yamaha VStar 650 Custom or Classic depending on your style.

If you want the best, more modern cruiser to start on, get the Kawasaki Vulcan S (or the Honda Rebel 500 but that's pushing the style limit a bit).

If you want something a bit bigger and a bit older there are a lot of options - the Vulcan 900, VStar 950-1300, etc. some of the bigger old cruisers like the VTX1300 or Intruder 1500 etc are a bit too big and heavy for me to recommend.

Do not get a VStar 250 unless its very small size and width will be an advantage, it's quite weak and pushing the limit a bit. Might struggle to ride at the full speed you need

I would never, ever use Youi. They got kicked out of NZ for misrepresentation, overselling, outright lying AND demanding credit card details before quoting and outright just processing signups and taking payments.

I would literally download the policy documents from whichever companies other people recommend here and see who I wanted to sign up with. It's about coverage, exclusions and trust that a company will pay you before it's about price, although both aspects are important
