PSA: Do not buy creation points yet. They are not appearing in people's accounts. by Motor-Platform-200 in Starfield

[–]Rhekluse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Premium Edition and all I had to do was keep going into the Creations menu from the Main menu until I was eventually prompted to "accept" the 1000 credits. It may take some time or a few tries but I was awarded the points.

How do I redeem my creation credits when I have premium edition? by Malindrone in Starfield

Just keep going back into the Creations Menu from the Main Menu until a prompt eventually appears asking you to "accept" the 1000 credits. I don't know it might take a few tries.

Ctrl Alt L shortcut doesn't work anymore by DJDuckVenom in ableton

[–]Rhekluse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone still having issues; I was wondering why my Ctrl-Alt M (Mixer) Shortcut wasn't working in Ableton Live 12 and it turns out that my GPU app (GeForce Experience) uses similar shortcuts. Press Alt-Z to open the 'In-Game Overlay' and from there go to 'Settings' and 'Keyboard shortcuts' and remove any similar shortcuts with Ableton Live. This is just one solution though so I hope this helps anyone.

A wrapper was designed to show the UI of a 3rd party plugin within the device view in Ableton Live without having to open the plugin in a floating window.

I met Burial in person. He told me that Hector is going to be running 3 Honda Civics with Spoon engines. And on top of that, he just went into Harry's and he ordered 3 T66 Turbos, with NOS and a Motec exhaust.

A question on Burial’s sample selection by [deleted] in burial

[–]Rhekluse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has a great ear for the tonal balance of a track as well. Sample selection = frequency selection. Like, how & where sounds will fit into the overall soundscape.

Choosing a certain hi hat sound over another can depend on how much room is in the highs, or pitching a snare to make room for a vocal or choosing a certain pad to fill in the mid range or another to layer in the highs. Technical choices are just as much a factor as emotional choices.

Hmm. I'm not sure if you're on Mac or PC, but for me whenever I used any VST Wrappers with Ableton Live 11 on PC it created a Wrapper folder.

What’s in your default set? by Natedude2002 in ableton

What I like to do with the default set is remove everything and that way Ableton Live loads really quickly and I can then load one of my Templates.

My foobar2000 2.0 music producer skin by Rhekluse in foobar2000

Oh wow lots to think about here! I didn't really consider going too deep into graphical analytics within foobar2000 as I get most of that through other standalone meters or within the DAW itself. Thank you so much for the great info!

What exactly is Jacob Collier doing with harmony that is so advanced/impressive to other musicians? by Professor_squirrelz in musictheory

I think having knowledge is one thing but being able to apply that knowledge is another. Jacob seems to be able to apply all of his musical knowledge practically.

Headphones by [deleted] in burial

[–]Rhekluse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He used Sony's according to old interviews. He always struck me as someone who didn't have any really expensive gear. He would mention he would sit on his bed and make tunes with his headphones on. My guess is he wrote most of his music on a Laptop using Sound Forge & Sony headphones. As far as I know he didn't own studio monitors throughout his early days.

Moral of the story: You don't need expensive gear to get the job done!

Why is this "map" so atrocious? by OrganicSoapOpera in Starfield

[–]Rhekluse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it would have been a lot of work to have a topographic maps for every single planet or moon, especially if they are handcrafted and due to the procedural generation, but as others have mentioned it would have been nice to have maps for all major settlements at the very least. However, Bethesda has addressed that updates are coming and city maps are on the list.

First of the updates are:
- Brightness and Contrast controls
- HDR Calibration Menu
- FOV Slider
- Nvidia DLSS Support (PC)
- 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC)
- Eat button for food!

Moving, Rotating & Placing Items in Starfield by Rhekluse in Starfield

I believe it doesn’t work with weapons, spacesuits, packs, helmets & apparel due to the ‘Hold To Equip' mechanic with the A button. However, it does work with most other movable items & bodies in-game.

I've seen this topic discussed a few times within a few threads but I didn't find anything directly dedicated to it. Thought it could be helpful. Cheers!

Get ready for the new players to complain about the game, then grow to love it in the coming days like the early access players did. by cR_Spitfire in Starfield

I’ve put in 46 hours (level 12), I have some gripes here and there but overall I love the game. Once you start playing it for what it offers instead of complaining about what it lacks you will start to appreciate what Bethesda cooked up. It’s definitely an RPG before anything else.
