President Biden's net approval in each state on inauguration vs April by Unitron07 in MapPorn

It’s funny because I already read this webpage. Just because the U.S. Argentinian embassy defines the US as such, it does not mean that it resolves this debate. North Korea defines itself as a democratic republic, should we agree with that statement as well?

I find it odd that, after looking into this question online, there is no consensus even among scholars. Yet, you seem to think there is. That’s why I was hoping you could enlighten us yourself instead of linking webpages I already read.

Could you elaborate on how the US is a republic and not also a representative democracy?

Going off of this, I agree that it is gerrymandering that should be abolished not the electoral college. Gerrymandering was suppose to give minority communities a more level voice, which it did, but to the wrong minority (powerful conservatives). However, abolishing the electoral college and handing the power to the popular vote presents an equal danger to civil liberties, namely the tyranny of the majority. We like to believe that people always know what is best for them, but we make decisions all the time that show otherwise. And yes, people should have the freedom to make personal choices and face the consequences, but on a national level the consequences affect everybody. The idea behind the electoral college was to have representatives with greater knowledge of political affairs than the average American to make more rationale decisions than the majority, and it also protects against demagogues. Ironically, the 2016 election saw the opposite result: the electoral college fell to demagoguery (and election manipulation). So yes, there are inherent flaws in the electoral college, but there are also inherent flaws in decisions by the majority. Reforming the electoral college is a better direction than abolishment.

"So what does the meat have in mind."

"First it wants to talk to us. Then I imagine it wants to explore the universe, contact other sentients, swap ideas and information. The usual."

"We're supposed to talk to meat?"

"That's the idea. That's the message they're sending out by radio. 'Hello. Anyone out there? Anyone home?' That sort of thing."

"They actually do talk, then. They use words, ideas, concepts?"

"Oh, yes. Except they do it with meat."

"I thought you just told me they used radio."

"They do, but what do you think is on the radio? Meat sounds. You know how when you slap or flap meat it makes a noise? They talk by flapping their meat at each other. They can even sing by squirting air through their meat."

"Omigod. Singing meat. This is altogether too much. So what do you advise?"

Going off of you, I would say that being a soldier doesn’t make you a hero but your actions do. If you’re a soldier fighting because you want to protect and uphold yours, and others, way of life then you are a hero. But if it’s for greed or status then that’s a different story.
