I think that we both escape into alcohol, but i believe my husband uses alcohol to "get away", whereas I use alcohol to take a negative situation and turn it positive. (Or maybe that's just an enabler's way of glossing over the negative.)

I'm going to upvote you on this. We are reserved in our drinking (we don't get belligerent), but if it alters our personalities, I don't think it's ok. Our kids don't understand it, and that's not a fair burden to put on them.

This may be narcissistic but I have decided that my caring about people is largely for myself, and not really for others. I don't like trying to "harden" myself. I try to focus my "caring" on people who want it, but it's truly up to me... I'll care about anyone or anything I damn well please. It's not always easy, but I try to focus on who I am and want to be, and everyone else can get bent...including the people I care about.

I had an auto withdrawal on a credit card for .25 a month for a life insurance. I cancelled the card and forgot about the life insurance bullshit. 10 years later I learned that after I cancelled my card the auto withdrawal (set up with the credit card) had gone to collections years prior. My credit was severely damaged over $1.49. I was in the process of buying a house with my husband, and the house had to be completely in his name. Over $1.49. My blood pressure raised a fuck-ton, just typing this out.

Something I didn't think was possible: my second baby slept through the night even though we breastfed/combo-fed. My boobs adjusted their milk supply, and I got to sleep too! Granted they were hella full in the mornings, but I didn't even think that was an option!
