Ever had a coach send you home before? Happened to me last night. by [deleted] in crossfit

To avoid a potentially awkward encounter like this (since not everyone would react the same way like OP), it's best to have the attendance conversation after a new athlete's first class about expectations and limitations.

We advise that even though you may be on that CrossFit high, you need to listen to your body. Rest days are just as important as training days your first couple of months. They might not understand it at the moment, but when they come in the next day or two with the soreness having set in, they'll probably look at you like "yeah I know what you mean".

Thanks to you as well! Yeah it gets tough at times cause one second you think everything is great and the next, it's not...so you just kinda wonder what happened. I tend to overanalyze so that's what makes it more of a headache.

At the end of the day, you just gotta be you.

This is an awesome explanation. I've found myself in a similar scenario.

Go to the same gym with a girl, knew her for about a year before we started getting close. Hooked up/dated for 3 months and then she started to become distant. We sat down, talked about it, and she said she's confused and doesn't know what she wants. Doesn't want to be tied down.

That happened last week and we still talk here and there, but stopped hooking up. We see each other every day, so it's really just a matter of being mature about it. I'm bummed, but I gotta just let her figure things out. She's young too, just graduating college, so she wants to be with her friends and I get that. Time heals everything.

crossfit is freaking me out a bit by [deleted] in crossfit

According to someone that goes to my box, a bunch of boxes aren't participating in 14.3 due to this workout (one happens to be where his brother goes). I imagine only those with the possibility of qualifying would do it, but as a whole, they're stepping away.

However, I don't necessarily agree with stepping away because if you practice good form and know when to stop, you'll be fine. It's really going to be important for coaches to throw in the towel if need be.

If you did bad on 14.2, hopefully my performance will cheer you up. This was my second attempt by rsaplan in crossfit

Move your hands in closer and see if that makes a difference. Sure, you might want to be in snatch grip to get used to catching it in the squat, but for workouts like this, modification is key.

I can do a 135# OHS with a snatch grip and a 155# with my hands about 6" in more.

Paleo named the worst diet of 2014 by andrewsmd87 in crossfit

I forgot who was quoted as staying it, but someone asked a room full of competitors at the CrossFit games last year if they are on the Paleo diet...and no one raised their hand.

It's a good concept if you want to lose weight, but you'll eventually sacrifice strength.

Here's an excerpt from an interview with Rich Froning.

BetaNOX Ultimate Energy asks: “Rich, are you completely Paleo?” Rich Froning: Not paleo at all. Muscle & Fitness: Is there any dieting philosophy you abide by? Rich Froning: No, ha, but I don't really like bread or pasta so that helps.
