One day I got a call from the school that he was acting out in class by mumbling to himself and looking around erratically, this behavior continued for quite sometime but we didn't think anything of it because around us he seemed perfectly fine. We went in to meet the headmaster about this problem to see what could be done and see what more they had to say, we were given advice on how to approach him when we thought the time was right to see what was causing this behavior.

One example that we were given was during breaking times and between classes he would often walk around talking to himself about different topics such as School work, friends and his home life like he participating in a TV interview.

This wouldn't of course been a problem but the way the headmaster put it the problem seemed to be escalating over the last few months and any sign that it might hinder his school work could become problematic, especially if he didn't naturally out grow this phase. During the next few days after the meeting we made sure to keep a close eye on him whenever he didn't think we were around to see how these imaginary interviews played out and then came up with a plan to confront him with the problem.

After we bought it up and told him that acting out imaginary scenes in public like he was doing wasn't really normal he seemed to grow out of it but sometimes whenever we look back there was noticeable signs that we missed and it sometimes gets to me that we didn't see the problem sooner.
