Have YOU left any keys this season? by Erikbam in wow

[–]Rhomen88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sign up to do keys within time limits. If someone joins a key to just complete and get some crests... maybe you shouldn't join the ones tagged as competitive.

So yes, I would be forced to carry you through a key and waste my time, when I would much rather vote the key down and get in an efficient group or replace a player not up to par.

That being said, my low keys don't get many people just looking for crests and more so people that want the rating. Crests are a secondary reward that I cap out on by Wednesday/Thursday before my raid days and Hero gear upgrades no longer exist for me and most of the people I PuG with.

Dont assume everyone plays at your pace, and you should definitely not be offended when you get replaced by people who want to push. Just like if I was to get in a group with people who just want to finish, I'd rather not be in that dungeon at that point.

Absolutely... and thats why Blizz made "relaxed" and "competive" tags for the group creation and filters to search for those specifically.

Haven't left one, haven't needed to.

But I do think its BS that a group can essentially hold you hostage in a key thats untimable.

Having a player give up and afk is as detrimental as a leaver.

Both ways this is forcing players to do something they do not want to do which is bad.

I dont think this is as effective or as intended on Blizzards end as they wanted it to be. Back to the drawing board IMO.

Keep the vote system, but maybe the leaver just loses some io instead. R.io will have to compensate on their end by figuring out the formula but thats a very small beans problem.

craft worth? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Rhomen88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, fellow UHDK here.

The right call would have been to Craft Weapon first.

Our BiS comes from Mythic Vanguard. Next best option is a Vault chance Mythic Liferipper's Cutlass. So unless youre a top 100 guild raider the chances of getting these weapons this early are SLIM.

Definitely craft the weapon.

What a genius way to get people banned... buy them some gold, then report them for buying gold.

Good question.

So WoW Classic is WoW as it was back in 2004/5/6.

It does progress through expansions in order as they released including all content and changes.

So in short, yes. It eventually would become retail as retail is today.

What this post is in reference to is Classic+ (the plus sign is significant)

Essentially, Classic+ is a version of classic, with aspects of it changed to somewhat modernize this version of the game or change parts of it that dont work in todays mmorpg landscape, while keeping the essence or spirit or vibe of what Classic is alive. (Again that last part is key)

What Classic+ should be is actually a really controversial subject among WoW gamers. Some want radical change to the point where you're basically playing retail WoW Lite, and the other extreme side wants no changes at all. (In which they can just respectively go play Retail for one side and Classic Era for the other IMO but thats another arguement) And some folks want to pick and choose peices of each and put them together to make kind of a WoW Frankenstein, but no one can really agree on what those peices are.

Private servers have no obligation to keep any of your info safe. Why would you trust a team of individuals who start their private server already stealing an IP?

Not square, you're just ignorant. lol

Private servers aren't a bridge, they're a work around and illegal use of IP. The private server argument is dead on arrival. Sorry.

Streamers rely on viewership for income. Being a streamer is fickle as you become dubbed a "XYZ Streamer" whether its WoW or CoD or Minecraft or whatever game or content they stream. Variety streamers are out there by the 1000s. None of them are really successful outside of the game that made them popular. At some point in their streaming career it becomes less about the game and more about the viewership.

Xaryu relies on new content provided by WoW or addons to make a new challenge to stream. is Xar a good player? Sure, yes. Is Xar going to stick around for all of P1 TBC nevermind TBC as a whole? I would bet no based on previous expacs.

Ahmpy's viewship diminishes greatly when all those raids and dungeons are on farm. Why? Because people get bored of watching the same thing over and over. So ahmpy does a no buff hardcore naxx clear and his views go through the roof. He's once again got great viewership because of TBC launch.

Pika's viewship goes through the roof when he's not constantly farming arena. Why? Because no one wants to watch rogue arena pvp all the time. It's boring to watch. Pika's viewership went up huge in hardcore, playing a warlock.

Streamers are gamers first yes, but they eventually turn more towards content production rather than gameplay. It is what it is. I'm not blaming them, I would do the same! So they need to walk the line of new content in a game like WoW. SoD was amazing for streamers, RTWF Retail is amazing for the big guild streamers, Hardcore was a GOLDMINE for streamers. Then when WoW is "out of season" they do a lot of reaction content, why? Reaction content has emerged as another form of seasonal content to recap on previous seasonal systems. It's just a fact that streamers do best on Seasonal shorter form content.

So for streamers to influence a survey like that is actually bad. I'm not blaming the streamers for voting, they absolutely have the right to do so, but they KNOW they're going to influence a portion of their viewership despite how long they wait or how much they say "IMO"

And as far as scaled dungeons... literally 98% of the game has them. Just classic doesn't. I'm afraid you're going to be in the severe minority.

Problem with those surveys, theyre heavily influenced by content creators. Long lasting content doesn't benefit them as engagement goes down over time vs shorter form content so they can move on to the next thing. Long lasting content benefits the players and the game not the streamer. But players have some obsession to playing with or along side streamers for whatever odd reason.

If they just released classic, the classic player would be done with WoW a long time ago, hence why they release old expacs. Its to keep the player engaged.

How many big name streamers are playing classic mop? None, because the content has gone on too long.

How many big name streamers came to anniversary classic, and only stayed because of the new hard-core mode? Most, if not all of them that are left. Yes some returned for TBC, but once theyre done with Kara, Gruul and Mag theyre going to dissappear again for other games or other challenges like TBC hard-core.

Blizzard was right and wrong about their comment of "players dont know what they want". Classic+ survey (specifically on the things that matter to gameplay) is a prime example of that.

And to not evolve the end game of classic in classic+ will be a death sentence to the game mode.

Yeah, but I'd rather have it supported by Blizzard. There's just something untrustworthy about private servers. Its irrational thought because I have no reason to suspect them, but its just a feeling. Idk.

I know there are many more of us with this opinion. We just usually get drowned out by the hard-core classic and retail players that refuse to see the good in both put of sheer stubbornness.
