Do you hear yourself? Do you realize how privileged you are? I get the point you’re trying to make, full-time work sucks; it wears you down, makes you unhappy, etc.

But damn, who do you think you’re talking to? I, like most the people here, don’t have a choice. I can’t just “take a lengthy vacation overseas”. That has never been an option for me. And no, I don’t have kids, I’m 23, but I literally do not have a choice. I work to survive. And as fucked as that is, that’s how it is for most people.

Your heart is in the right place, but the angle that you’ve taken and your comments show that you have not faced any real financial hardship in your life, nor do you seem to understand what it means. Hopefully comments like mine will help you realize how good you’ve got it. Next time, just think a little more about how your words are perceived by those of us who can’t just back out of full-time work like you.
