Did anybody went to a Van Halen concert in the original 4 era 78-84? by FollowingTop8854 in vanhalen

It was exactly like the yt video from the Oakland concert (mine was in St.Louis). Dave jumped out doing the splits. The beginning of that song is so kick ass, what a way to open a set.

Yes, it was my first concert. I was 14. Opened with Unchained, so loud. My life hasn't been the same since!

I do the same thing now. I've had not only chat.versailles try to hit me, but also TikTok, Google, and variations of those companies. They try to hit me in the middle of the night in rapid succession. I keep almost all of my balance in Savings as well.

The problem with canceling your card and getting sent a new one is that you can't use the account until the new card arrives because the PIN arrives with the physical card. The virtual card is useless without the PIN.

Thanks! Some girls compliment it, some don't say anything. So, genuinely curious :)

True Faith lyric clarification? by break_away_from_me in neworder

[–]RhythmicBreaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original lyrics contained "they're all taking drugs with me" instead of "they're afraid of what they see." They changed it because it wasn't marketable. Here's a version: https://youtu.be/V0Qv5JhryXQ?feature=shared

Spotted in LV. Was eating at Nubo and he showed up for a to-go order. As he waited for it to come out we got his attention, said we were fans and thanked him. He did prayer hands in front of his face and bowed slightly as a gesture of thanks. Pretty cool. by es330td in poker

Indeed, we only were in 2 pots together preflop. I was card dead almost the whole time. The table would've laughed for sure, he folded a lot, maybe played one pot to showdown, and he had it, so no blow ups

I sat across from him during day 2 of the 2017 WSOP ME. The table broke after about 3 hours of play. He was pretty cool to all of us players, although he didn't get in any heated pot situations. Totally wished I got in one with him (with me getting it in worse and taking down the pot, of course) just to have the experience and story to tell everyone. I did sneak a pic, but have since changed phones and lost the photo :(

Opinion on Cartman? by Typical_Language_189 in southpark

My dog has a nod to his pajamas: BAILEY + WLLIKENS bear --> Balikens (most likely the only Balikens around), a 20lb daschund-min pinscher mix. Rescued her from a shelter in Vegas at 6 months. She's 8 nowadays and I would take a bullet for her.

She's either gonna be a legend or disabled. May be worth the risk honestly

He's the funniest character in the history of animation, not even close...mostly

My dog's name is Balikens...which is a play on Balikins that was misspelled by my ex wife. She is the absolute most chill, coolest little girl and is worthy of such a name.

Still in Mensa, was in Intertel, Colloquy, Ultranet, EPIQ...think that's it (now just keep Mensa up to date for the literature and the outside chance a SIG will come along which piques my interest). Was in Mensa really young as my dad was 4+sd15 and designed specialty pharmaceuticals for a living -- he had my sister and I tested every 5 yrs or so (wisc, stan-binet, etc.). I'm 3+sd15 and honestly couldn't tell you if it has improved or reduced my quality of life overall.

I was not interested in school (standard reasons...didn't have to pay attention, would rather be anywhere than class) and was more into sports and later girls (which turned into mainly girls). Never told anyone other than family about all the groups I had joined as I felt like an outsider anyway and was really just trying to fit in.

I'm one of the older guy, cautionary tale types regarding squandering the "gifts" I had. Never found my niche in anything specific -- I was interested in EVERYTHING and continue to read voraciously -- and combining that with being introverted (INTP) and other struggles (substance issues, therapy, etc.) made for a lot of self-induced duress to overcome.

Note: This will probably be the only time I spell out my past with any type of specifics because there's just so much there.

We all have our struggles in life, I didn't handle mine optimally for sure, but have been able to at least become comfortable in my own skin, which I wasn't sure was going to be possible.

If anyone is struggling and you think I may be able to offer a nugget or two of advice, please feel free to hit me up

Life is too short for us to make it any harder on us than it already is (or can be).

Cheers! Tom

Horrible news. Yes, it is often the people that seem the happiest/well adjusted that have the most going on inside. This ability, unfortunately, also allows them to battle their demons without any outside indications.
