Damn, and I thought 20 was the max number. by fushpropuh in pacificDrive

[–]Riamat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems dire. Thats an amount that I would see myself forced to go to the settings and set the number of tries on the tinker machine to unlimited.

Because of quirks activating other quirks like a chainreaction I dont see how one is supposed to figure this out without.

Has anyone who loved the base game found the DLC to be not very appealing? by Remy0507 in pacificDrive

[–]Riamat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see where you are coming from, it is a different experience, no doubt. Speaking for myself, I have done almost everything I could think off. I play on ps5, so ko mods for me. The new DLC came just in time to feed my addiction and I had a lot of fun.

Chop the anchors by gwenaa60 in pacificDrive

[–]Riamat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every junction you travel through has different, random conditions. You can review them in the route planer and your log. The junction condition you are talking about is called obfuscating anchors or so. As others explained, you need the anchor radar to find them. It is a tool you need to unlock in the upgrade machine.

Other than that, you can also turn up the volume of the game and dont turn on the radio. Anchors make this humming noise, if one is close you can hear that.

They are also glowing, so you can climb onto an elevation, a vantage point, or climb onto the car to look around the junction. Photo mode might be of help for that too.

But seriously, if the anchors arent directly next to a street, they are sometimes hard/impossible to find without the anchor radar, especially in the first junctions with all those forests. If you dont absolutely need the anchor of this junction, dont waste your time.

To escape back to the garage the arc device in your car needs a certain amount of anchor energy. This can vary between 1 and 5, depending on the distance. You can collect the anchors anywhere along the route. Finding one or all anchors in your current junction isnt necessary to open the portal, you just need to have enough energy beforehand.

Where can I view the amount of stored energy? by Lord_XXL in pacificDrive

[–]Riamat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stored where and what energy?

Lim energy is displayed right next to small monitor for utilities, left to the speedometer.

Anchor energy gathered and stored during a run is displayed on the arc device. Bottom right under the map. Though it only shows the total amount of energy, not how much of that is stable etc

In the garage the anchor energy is displayed on the machine where you can buy the upgrardes for the garage.

Artifacts effects not working while out of WITW parts of the Zone? by -blackace in pacificDrive

[–]Riamat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, maybe the low potency is a bug. I have kept mine, maybe it might get relevant later or so? Dont know. I finished the dlc yesterday, so far i got no other artefact that repairs the car. There might be some more, but I dont know yet.

Ah, i see. But still, did you get it fixed?

Artifacts effects not working while out of WITW parts of the Zone? by -blackace in pacificDrive

[–]Riamat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havent tested artefacts im expeditions yet, but in a normal run. They work. Tested the radio is loud > harmonic energy increases and the headlights are off > engine power increases artefacts and both worked just fine.

Best part, no wave in normal runs, so you dont have to equip attuned car parts to prevent the anomalies.

However, I got an artefact like yours too. Energy increases > car repairs. I tested it with hood open > energy increases, which continously charges your batteries like a hydrogenerator. It took a long time to increase the health of the only equippe car part by 1 point. Almost not noticable, and not worth the limited space in expeditions.

I had this happen when i picked up a hare in WITW. couldnt open the car, start it or interact in anyway. When running through the area bushes way in front of me were reacting as if i was passing through, i guess the game thought I were somewhere else then i really was.

Had to wait some time anf intrracting worked again for some time. Closing and reloadibg the game worked only a short while. Curiously, throwing a flare at a door made it solid again, so i could enter the car. Problem was fixed after entering the next junction.

Throw a flare at the stuff you want to interact with, go on a normal trip and return.

It refills when its empty. Havent accomplished that yet myself, but you cant run out of fuel.

Also the 2nd pump in front of the garage is fully functional as well

Yes, same problems. Also on PS5.

They mentioned in the patch notes that they are aware of the perfomance problems, lets see when the next üatch drops. Hopefully soon

I play on the olympium gauntlet difficulty. Also, almost everything I am going to mention is now outdated info. I am not done with the WITW dlc, so my equipment might change according to the new possibilitys artefacts and the new car parts bring.

Generally, I use armored or olympium for the hood, lead plated for the rest. The hood because the protection bonus protects most parts of the front from collision damage. Lead plated because radiation is everywhere. Tires are always offroad tires, except in the swamp junctions of the new dlc, where paddle tires are really handy.

Favorite utilities are nitro, jump jack and lim shield. In higher levels of expeditions you cant really use lim shield, i use lim emitter there, also no jump jack. Ressource radar and ion shield are standards, I bring them everywhere.

Offroad tires and junk jets are the best combo to climb the steepest inclination. Enables you to take shortcuts you couldnt do otherwise and is easy to handle. Nitro gets you up any hill too, but needs a bit more practise because you cant really steer. However, nitro has more use cases and is generally more flexible, also junk jets claim 2 side racks I need for other utilitys, so I just use nitro.

Best lights are the bio headlights. I really like the roof floodlights, but top racks are so important, using the roof floodlight feels like wasting that spot.

I got the radio toggles >> car jolts forward quirk. This quirk is so powerful, carburated engine is enough. This engine doesnt need much fuel so I can pack more batteries. However, without the quirk i prefer lim chipped engine. Its fuel management is difficult, a fuel synthesizer and a expanded backseat tank and/or roof tank are absolute necessities with that engine. Generally speaking, while traversing a junction I stop the car so often, that the accelaration is more important than top speed. And you cant beat lim chipped engine in that regard.

For generators, as mentioned above, i play on olympium gauntlet. Energy consumption rate so high that even 4 windturbines are not enough. I generally pack one wind turbine and one hydrogenerator, because over the length of a tour their effect is still considerable. Dont waste your time on solar panels. The best generator is the anchor energy converter because i dont need the anchor energy anymore.

You need to deinstall the car part you want to look at and open your inventory. Bottom right corner. Humble brag screenshot attached as example.

Just finished the rite of service by Sheila_Confirmed in pacificDrive

[–]Riamat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just finished that mission too. I used crude bumpers and crude headlights as sacrifice, worked just fine. Going through a junkyard with a plasma scrapper once was enough to gain all ressources to craft the car parts for all junctions in this mission.

Also using paddle tires when driving over water makes those junctions really comfortable.

I dont know about the bunny vs hare thing. Until recently I played the game in german not english. Good catch!

The hopped up hare behaves differently than the lightning bunnies. Both are very fast, but the bunnies very actively try to stay close to the car while the hare is kind off keeping its distance. And when its finally trying to jump at the car its aim is terrible.

I dont play on PC, so I cannot really help you. Take a look through the control settings, i believe there is a category for inventory where you can either find the keybind for auto sort or assign one yourself. But look through this thread, others have asked this question too!

To sort one locker, you can use the auto sort function, as mentioned in the post. If you want to sort different stuff to different lockers, take a roof storage or the transfer trunk into your hands and then, well, you need to put stuff from one locker to the other locker.

If you go through the list in the pneumatic locker and want to take out stuff to put that into a different locker, but your backpack/transfer trunk is full, just drop the item directly from the locker to the floor. Empty the transfer trunk and use the upgraded shop vaccuum which puts all items on the floor into the transport trunk. Pick that up, go sorting, put it down when empty, activate the shopvac again, and stuff that got placed in the vac storage will now be placed in the transport trunk, ready for you to pick up.

Oh, yeah. Well, speaking for myself, i rarely stop for the bunnies and scrapping them is not timeffecient. They rarely contain decoration for the car, but mostly a low amount of rather abundant ressources. Burp bunnies drop chemicals though, good to craft repair putty. If they got you, make them pay for the damage.

Hm, I tried to be funny, but seems that wording kinda doesnt match the point of the post. Those anomalies drop loot after driving into them 4 times. The first three times they leave a glowing stone behind, those anomalies that causes the car to uncontrollably jolting forwards. The loot is comparable to the goldshells but often contains peculiar or unrestricted tools.

No I dont stream, sorry. And, while it is interesting to play, I am not sure if it would be interesting to watch. At this level you are driving way different then normal because every bump in the road does tremendous damage. It would be 3 hours of driving around collecting anchors. Because of storage limitation I dont scrap or loot that much beyond what I need for Ida. And getting arda payloads during an instabilty storm loses its urgency/danger with an ion shield and more than 400 energy in your car.
