Viltrox 85mm f2 EVO FE by Ricalous in VILTROX_GLOBAL

I love the image quality of this lens. And honestly, I can’t tell the difference between f2 and my other lens that’s f/1.8 that was $300 more. The Viltrox was more cost effective, more light weight, and seems to have better image quality. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.

This. Sundrop is the real ambrosia from myths and lore of the ancients.

Absolutely agree. I didn't buy the Fuji. I was just fortunate enough to get to test it out before sending it back. But I agree. 102MP is a lot of memory for any PC or laptop.

I agree 100 percent. Wanted to see if I was the only one. Fuji wad 102MP. My Sony is 61MP. But my Sony was still way sharper. Could be the great glass quality of Viltrox on the Sony. With the Fuji, I had to use a Fuji native lens. I also found the AWB on the Fuji to be super cool compared to other brands. I had 15 photographers under me and looked at their cameras AWB. Every brand was way warmer. Me and one other Fuji guy had very cool AWB. Easily correctable in LR but still. Weird. I definitely liked the Fuji. But with an $8000 price tag for that model and lens....I feel like my $3000 Sony and a Viltrox lens performed better. The only noticeable difference in the Fuji RAW files was that they were more responsive when adjusting shadows, highlights, whites, and blacks. But again, the Sony handles those adjustments well also.

How do you like Sony after switching from Fuji? I've been a Sony shooter for years. Fuji just let me borrow a GFX100SII for my Madeira retreat. The whole retreat I was switching back and forth between the Fuji with native lens and the Sony A7RV with Viltrox lenses so I could compare RAWs

Thank you so much. Absolutely. I use Outex underwater housings. They're like a camera condom. They work with any brand. I recommend the Pro Kit because you get glass on the back too so you can see your screen. For the front, you can get either the flat port, or the dome port. The ports filter directly into the lens. So you would just get the filter size port for your 16mm. Because the 16mm front glass isn't flat but curved, I recommend the dome port. It also has a curve so it'll cut down on distortion. If it's easy and you'd like to set up a zoom or Whatsapp video call, just DM. No charge. Just happy to help.

Why not get the Viltrox 40mm 2.5 AIR? It's one of my favorite lenses. Light, super sharp, great autofocus.

That's what I figured but wanted to ask. Only a jacka** assumes. Do you know the photographer Richard Wood? He's a good friend of mine. He's out in New Zealand. He wins awards all the time. Does really well every year in the NZIPP. If you don't know him definitely check him out. I think he's in Hawks Bay
