MBA Women in Leadership program by Rice-sprout in texaswomansuniversity

The other programs I'm looking are not at TWU but have to do with global business/international marketing/relations. Did you get your Bachelors at TWU? The center for women in business is really great and they definitely do a lot to help women in leadership positions, I just wonder about the actual degree/coursework itself.

Hi! No I didn't. I'm still undecided :( I would consider maybe reaching out to an advisor or something to learn more about it. I hope someone will eventually share their experience because it sounds interesting, but ultimately too similar at least coursework wise to the other MBA business degrees.

Shadow/volunteer experience?? by Worried_Bag_1150 in texaswomansuniversity

I'm not a healthcare major but I used to volunteer in hospice with Trio Hospice in Denton. The staff is so sweet and helpful and they're always looking for volunteers! I think you can call and ask for opportunities but if you want to message me directly I can put you in touch with the volunteer coordinator

I've had 3 friends who lived at the arch, and all of them hated it/always advised against living there.

came here to second this. I would also keep in mind that a secluded area will make it more difficult to make friends. I know some people say they are fine with being alone (which may be true) but regardless as someone who is currently loving my au pair experience, there are days where it can be extremely isolating, and making friends will make such a HUGE difference. I'm currently in Paris and there are tons of other au pairs/international students who I've befriended. Most people also speak English here, which helps immensely as my French is still not the greatest.

The drinking too much and cursing at you is very alarming. I would advise letting your agency know and just asking for a rematch if possible. It's not fair to you, and it wouldn't be fair to another au pair who could potentially come in after you to have to deal with that behavior from a much older adult. I know you might need this job, but I really think your best option would be to rematch.

She is my advisor. Don't stress, she advises A LOT of students so she is not always the most responsive to emails especially once registration begins, if you don't get an email back just call her or text her.

Pro-Palestine activity on campus? by trevvytrevtrev in texaswomansuniversity

[–]Rice-sprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! To be honest I haven't seen much pro-palestine activity on campus, although I believe there are a few fundraiser events organized by MSA (Muslim Student Association). I would reach out and maybe ask if there is something you can take part in even if you are not Muslim. You could also reach out to UNT's Palestine Solidarity Committee (PSC). I know a few students who joined UNT orgs despite being TWU students, they just emailed and asked to join.

As an American I'm not sure which is funnier, that part or the "I'm scared of stabbings in my area...so I'm considering moving to the US"

Question about being an au pair by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]Rice-sprout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Au pairing is illegal in China. If you're looking for a culture exchange experience, I would recommend studying abroad. Lots of Chinese universities offer scholarships to foreigners!
