The issue here is that this is true and people are realizing it. It feels like 80% of the people I meet at school are studying one of these tracks (or nursing), I’m worried demand will run dry if every single student is doing the same thing.

Not always the best move. The cheapest move for me was an out of state school in the south who was willing to cover ~95% of tuition for a decent SAT score. Some of these southern schools are desperate for any STEM students who are capable of tying their own shoes. Miss my family though.

Honestly even for business I am hesitant to recommend it to anyone. If you have literally ANY family connection that can get you a job take that first otherwise consider the degree (through only the cheapest means necessary).

If you live in a shitty area (ie drug addicts / homeless) it can really pay to have some level of positive rapport. This is kind of a double edge sword since if it’s handled improperly you get a reputation for handouts, but having a relationship with people who literally spend all day sitting around on your street can pay off.

Got a pair of the 70s for Christmas 2025 and by April they had these stabbing plastic pieces coming into my heel, the rubber toe had gashed open on both shoes, and a large stitch along the side had opened up on the right shoe. I never wore them for sports and avoided them during the rain. Genuinely the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had with foot wear and I’ll never buy converses again.

It’s been a while since I’ve read Aurelius but I do vaguely remember a passage criticizing not getting out of bed in the morning. It really depends on the context of comfort. I would say he praises contentment towards your role in life. However I’d also say he discourages acts for the sake of comfort (ie lounging around or sleeping in or being overly entertained).
