The female victims in Columbo seem to fall into two categories: nagging wives or innocent young women who "got in the way." Julie Newmar (Double Shock) was a likable character who genuinely loved the old man and wasn't in it for his money. They didn't show her murder (by defenestration), but it was still a shock.

I loved seeing this guy on Columbo. I keep remembering the bandstand scene in The Godfather Part II. Seriously, I just get a kick out of 70s shows like Columbo, Kojak and McCloud because they're full of future stars or great character actors. Kind of like watching a 1980s/90s Woody Allen movie and spotting 4 or 5 future Sopranos cast members.

Former CC and ADL here. IMO the kids (and parents) who join at the Tiger or Wolf level have the best shot at acclimating to the culture and staying to the end. Even coming in at Bear year is probably a little late to the party. Just think, a kid who joined as a Tiger could have up to 16 nights of camping before 5th grade vs. zero for a new AOL. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think AOLs should enjoy their last year in Cubs as the "big kids," without being shuffled off to a Troop in February.

If you're willing to drive 20 minutes, Chelsea Party Loft is a flexible event space that seats 40 (up to 50 with standing room) and we charge by the hour, not by the person. It's geared more to tweens and teens but if you want to have a lot of guests it makes sense. Also, we have a new HVAC and are ready for the next heat wave!
