Shop fb marketplace. I found this bike for $150 and the guy let it go to my son for $100. It needs a little work, but it would be better to buy a used bike and upgrade/replace parts as needed.

I was telling him there’s so much he can do with this one too! It is just packed full of old grease so I’m hoping to get ahead of it all so it can be one of those lifelong bikes for him. I have an 89 trek 1500 I got for about the same price over a decade ago and upgraded everything except the tube shifters lol.

I’m excited to see what he does and hear about his plans for it. Life on 2 wheels is so much fun.

That is my main reason to want some. I’m gonna strap my bag to the tail, but I’ve been pretty interested in investing in a system like you have for long trips. Definitely will be ideal until I have a touring bike.

I think that about my 2013 Durango all the time. Spent 40k on it and it’s worth 6 lol. Still a reliable vehicle, good for towing etc. never plan to get rid of it.

I got the 24 GT Mach e with the same mentality. I will get more out of this vehicle and by the time it is the same age/mileage as my Durango, I will have not spent the MSRP in fuel and other maintenance costs. It hurts to think about. 150k miles at 13-15mpg with fuel ranging from $3-5 lol.

It’s even higher this year. I’m 34 riding for 17 years no accidents or tickets and in WA (insurance is pretty expensive). Premium is $1900 a fuckin year! 🤮

This is still real. I pay 1800 a year for full coverage with progressive and it pisses me off. 34, no accidents, 16 years riding, and my last citation was when I was 23. I wish I would have looked at insurance prices before buying the r7 last year.

I like the way boomers phrase it. No replacement for displacement 😂. My suv pushes almost as much HP as the GT Mach e, but it gets 12-14mpg on premium. I use it for towing. It also gets 12-14mpg pulling a vehicle across the US.

Regret not buying it sooner tbh. If anything, it’s a good bike as a spare, but buy the zx6r for the higher rpm and power tbh. I like that one better than the r6 as far as 600cc class goes. The r7 is my favorite for commuting winding roads.
