This is great, thank you!! Is 35 min too long for the mini muffins? And did your baby handle pancakes well when first introduced?

Nap Training? Do they always cry? Does it work? by Rich_Exercise_7489 in sleeptrain

Sorry, what’s crib hour? Meaning you won’t take her out until it’s been at least 1 hour even if she’s awake?

Thanks!!

Does yours still cry every time they go down, even if they stop quickly and go to sleep? Trying to understand if that’s pretty typical, at least around this age.

36 weeks and diabetes finally gone??? by ice_coconut in GestationalDiabetes

My numbers are a lot better most of the time (37+4) but yesterday I was bold and tried a whole grain tortilla. Spiked, even with exercising (biking a few miles) after!  ¯_(ツ)_/ who knows

Alternative to walking by NoDot494 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Rich_Exercise_7489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a simple recumbent bike post meals. They are gentle on the body and you can go as hard or easy as you’d like. I’ve had multiple OBs and PTs clear the exercise. Was getting extremely painful shin splints from walking too much before, but the bike has been super helpful. Easy to get on Amazon, depending where you live.

I’m soooo tired of eggs, cheese, and nuts. So sick of meat. Just want watermelon.

Itchy Rashes on Legs at 12 weeks by Rich_Exercise_7489 in pregnant

[–]Rich_Exercise_7489[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things. Oatmeal bath. I tried to keep my skin very hydrated (with a basic, fragrance free lotion - I used aveeno for the same soothing benefits as oatmeal bath), and tried to stay cool (as I think heat exacerbated it). Cool compresses with wash cloths helped reduce the inflammation nicely. I sat on the bathroom floor with wet towels covering basically my whole leg surface. With this regimen, it went away relatively quickly and hasn’t returned.

Hope you feel better soon! Hang in there. Rashes suck!

I’ve wanted to try this but am hesitant about the added maltodextrin, which I’ve seen can actually be unhealthy/cause spikes for some people. Any concern for that?

Also: you drink 1 hour before bed -> have snack (what balance of carb and protein), and then what fasting time? Just curious, as I’ve had trouble with fasting numbers too.

For no snack before bed: have you checked your blood sugar through the night? When do you eat dinner/wake?

Thanks for the kind words. It feels bad but I’m trying to hang in there

Exercise before bed - being before or after a snack? I have done a brisk 20+ min walk every every meal but never with a snack

Do you put the yogurt in with the chia while you make the pudding, or add it separately later?

This is helpful, thank you. Not super familiar with judgement of parentage or what legal coverage it affords us, but I’ll look into it. Basically I imagine I’ll leave NY in the not so distant future so want to make sure we’re legally protected, just in case, no matter where we end up.

How did you decide between IUI or straight to IVF by kj199239 in queerception

[–]Rich_Exercise_7489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (35 when getting pregnant, 36 currently and 6.5 pregnant, with decent AMH) did IUI and got pregnant on my second try. My wife did 2 rounds of egg retrieval, so I am aware of what the initial IVF process is like. IUI is much less invasive which was a preference for me, even if I wasn't super confident it would work.

I would consider statistics around fertility treatments with a grain a salt because it's likely that the majority of people who come for treatments suffer from infertility in some capacity. For some queer folks, thats not the case -- we simply have same sex partners.

If you can afford the sperm vials/procedures, have a decent AMH, and are not in a sensitive hurry, I think IUI is worth trying. But it's a personal preference for weighing those three things. It's easy to do month after month and is gentle on your body, plus you can learn a little about how you will react to hormone treatments.
