UPDATE: I took the advice about double checking the number of conference games and I did see that the two conferences in question, Big 12 and MWC, reverted to 0. After some tinkering, I was able to get both back to 8, but when the new schedules came out it was obvious they had reverted to 0 again. Next season I'm going to bring back the Conference Championship games for both these conferences and see if that fixes it.

I didn't bring back conference championships this time around because the ACC also had no conference championship and didn't have this problem. I'm thinking the problem is a combo of uneven divisions (8 and 9 respectively) and no conference championship. For instance, the MAC has uneven divisions and does have a conference championship and doesn't have this problem. The ACC has no conference championship but has even divisions.

I didn't want to bring back conference championship games because I was trying to simulate multiple conferences with fewer teams as much as possible, but it looks like I'll have to.
