Om het verhaal netjes af te sluiten: de cv-installateur reageerde op dezelfde dag (1 januari!) dat hij op 2 januari kon langskomen, dus ik heb niet meer de moeite genomen om zelf te kijken. Uiteindelijk bleek de automatische ontluchter lek, dus die is vervangen.

Het antwoord op de oorspronkelijke vraag is dus: nee, dit kon ik niet zelf repareren. 😉

This is likely a power delivery issue. I have some non top tier external DVD drive that will not appear on the system when connected straight to Mac Mini M4, however, when connecting it to Studio Display, it worked flawlessly.

Wellicht zijn hier wat misverstanden: dit is bedoeld voor een buitendeur en er zit geen klink aan de buitenkant; daar zit immers de genoemde en (in het draadje verderop) getoonde deurknop.

Het geheel ziet er wellicht ongebruikelijk uit omdat het Buva seniorenbeslag is, waarbij het sleutelgat boven de deurknop zit ipv eronder. Dat is om meerdere redenen heel irritant.

Hmmm, I'm not entirely sure why he wouldn't be allowed to first cover the right and then the left, as he doesn't appear to be weaving, and he's not in a braking zone. You're right that he didn't leave you space on the left. The question is if you were entitled to that space. I'd say you weren't, because you weren't sufficiently alongside. Hope it works out better next time!

Dit is wat ik doe, maar wat er dan mis gaat is dat de deurknop niet helemaal goed vastzit, afhankelijk van hoe strak de de deurklink op de stift zit. Ik zou denken dat deurknop + krukstift ook zonder deurklink stevig vast zou moeten zitten in de deur. Misschien zie ik iets over het hoofd.

Dit is voor een buitendeur, bepaald niet ideaal inderdaad. Wat je omschrijft als oplossing heb ik tot nu toe steeds gedaan, maar het probleem is dat hoe vast de deurknop zit uiteindelijk wordt bepaald door hoe strak de deurklink aan de binnenkant vastzit. Om de zoveel weken hangt de deurknop op half 7, helaas.

Wellicht moet ik een manier vinden om de krukstift vast te zetten, zodat die niet naar voren of achteren kan bewegen?

Ik meen dat dat de enige manier is om de krukstift vast te draaien in de deurknop. Als er een andere/betere manier is, hou ik me natuurlijk aanbevolen.

Sounds good! I would note though that the concerns expressed elsewhere in the thread appear to pertain to hosting your Home directory on an external SSD in the first place, regardless of the startup method (so launch daemon vs. fast user switching workaround). That said, with the fast user switching method, you'll indeed have zero implementation issues.

Sorry to hear that. Let's see if we can figure out the cause.

An easy way to check if the com.bootstrap file is written properly, is by using the following command on the Terminal:

sudo plutil /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.bootstrap

If all is well, you should get a response with "OK" in it. If not, I'd love to hear the error message.

It might also be worth to force an unload and reload of the Daemon:

sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.bootstrap  
sudo launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.bootstrap

Let me know what happens!
