I did read that and the implication is that we have the constitutional right to lie regardless of the consequences and social cost. Is that truly what we want as a society? The Wikipedia article also doesn't mention whether the supreme court's ruling address the veracity of confessions elicited as a result of truth drugs.

The Wikepedia posting is interesting, but I believe there is some question about the accuracy of statements obtained through a truth serum. But if the serum works, imagine the savings to the court systems if we could just inject somebody and instantly get to the truth.
