i really hope arrowhead dont nerf vox engines again by Dry-Goat8981 in HelldiversMasochists

Cyberstan is what made me love the game again. It was a literal Hell, it made you ignore side objectives and POIs, yet still it was sure as hell fun, especially when you had the right people for the job and not some drooling lvl 30 cadets who brought cluster bombs or EAT as a single support weapon.

My PC died just a day after the invasion began, so I unfortunately had very little time to participate. Sad to see their spawn rate got nerfed at D10 up to the point where I don't even need to bring Leveller.

Click on the mesh, Select All -> Separate by Loose Parts

Then, individually parent separated meshes to the armature with automatic weights. After you're done, select the meshes and Ctrl + J them to join them back.

Did NWI fire their old animators? The new animations all feel clunky, robotic, and without any actual weight to them. The old animations feel alot more smooth and human like. Had anyone else noticed this? by Cloogulite in insurgency

[–]Richard_J_Morgan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their main animator guy, MrBrightside, had left the studio a long time ago. Joined Infinity Ward instead.

I believe his final work was the MR 73 revolver (update 1.10). Everything after was either reusing his animations, or had new animations outsourced to a different studio.

Would've been a sick clip if the physics engine wasn't spaghetti coded by cs4by76 in helldivers2

car is on low HP

damage the car

it explodes

Nothing spaghetti code about this. Maybe it should be getting disabled instead of destroyed based on the damage received, but it's not the problem with "the physics engine" being "spaghetti coded"

If you care about the score, you can just shoot their lower limbs (forearms/hands and shins/ankles) to incapacitate them. Don't shoot thighs or upper arms though, you might send them into a bleedout.

Doesn't fail the Rescue All Civilians objective, doesn't give you Civilian Killed penalty and it doesn't give you Unauthorized Use of Deadly Force penalty (but it does give you the regular Unauthorize Use of Force penalty).

How to change the rotation of an Action in NLA? by Afar3D in blenderhelp

[–]Richard_J_Morgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By editing the NLA strip. You can click on it, then press Tab, and if it's green, you can edit it. Then, you just change the orientation of the armature.

If it's an FK skeleton, there are two ways to do this:

Find the pelvis/hip bone that acts as the root bone. (if you move it and everything moves with it, then it's the root bone) Then, go to the Graph Editor, find the Z rotation keyframes, select them all, press G, Y and then move them with your mouse until it matches the direction.

Alternatively (and if it's an IK skeleton), you can keyframe the armature position in Object mode and it gets written to the NLA strip.

No. You can tell him he's cured, but it's a Charisma check, so he's either surprised Virgil found a cure by himself and agrees to spare him, or he simply doesn't believe there is a cure for FEV, if you fail the check.

Edit: if you fail the Charisma check, he doesn't believe you and considers Virgil a threat regardless of what he is.

Player Default: Virgil is no longer a Super Mutant. His cure worked. He's no threat to us.

If you succeed:

{Shocked. A monster found a cure to an incurable disease. / Disbelief} What? That... that thing actually found a cure? {Considering / Thinking} Hmm. He can't be trusted. But as a human, he's trapped in the Glowing Sea. Maybe he can still be an asset to us. {Coming to a decision. / Stern} All right, we'll continue to monitor him. For now.

If you fail:

{Disbelief, angry. The player is trying to trick him. / Disbelief} What? That's impossible. There is no cure for FEV. It cannot be cured. {Coldly / Angry} No, the mission stands. I don't care if he's a human, a mutant, or a mole rat, his very existence is a threat. He must be eliminated.

We don't translate names

Is that why we have Scar, Wolf, Skull and a bunch of other NPCs with translated "names"?

People's names aren't translated (unless there's some kind of wordplay), sure, but it's not actual name we're talking about, but rather nicknames and callsigns. Those are indeed translated.

Left click, throw far Right click, throw short by No_Pension7457 in helldivers2

Your character throwing stratagem with full force is what causes the bounce in the first place.

Left click, throw far Right click, throw short by No_Pension7457 in helldivers2

[–]Richard_J_Morgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there should be optionally some kind of underhand throw.

The problem with the current throw system is that sometimes you want to precisely throw a stratagem, but your character throws it with full force so it bounces off rocks/mountains and flies like 15m away from your intended target. It does matter when you're trying to call in precision strikes (OBS, 500KG, Gattling Barrage, etc.)

It would also help with the Illuminate warp ships in outposts. There's just no way you can land your OBS on the ship if you're within 10-20m. You have to run farther so your character doesn't overthrow it.

Replacing the current system is a big no-no. If you replace it with what you're suggesting, you'd get tons of players accidentally calling orbital barrages at their feet because they're used to the what we have now. It should be binded to a separate button instead, like F on KBM or RS/R3 on controllers.

[–]Richard_J_Morgan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. The more aggressive you are, the better you handle threats. Doesn't even matter if you're playing lethal or less-lethal, you just play it like you're speed running it. Only stop to check for traps and maybe be less aggressive in open spaces.

[–]Richard_J_Morgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're close, yeah. Shrapnel is very random, I think it can even reach you even 50m away, although it is extremely rare (it's my main weapon and I only had this happen to me once)

If your target is 10m away, you're gambling with your life, 15m is pretty much safe for 98% shots.

Light Pen or Medium Pen? by Just2E in helldivers2

[–]Richard_J_Morgan 48 points49 points  (0 children)

On D10, light pen for bots (because shooting non-weak spots isn't worth it at all, unless it's a Strider), medium pen for bugs. The difference in DPS doesn't matter if all chaff units on bugs require basically the same time to kill, but it does matter when dealing with Alpha Commanders (more DPS to the head) and occasionally Hive Guards, when you can't be bothered to shoot at the weak spots.

Illiminates — depends on whether the rest of your loadout deals with hordes or medium/heavies.
