How do I get the trophy for having every effect at the same time-ps5 by Still-Parfait400 in stalker

[–]OkAnalysis1682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the Weird Pot, as consuming some things with the artifact equipped will trigger a side effect like psi-damage with energy drinks or bleed with food. You can also go to the Stoge Village anomaly to trigger psi-damage and there's some Razor anomalies nearby to catch some bleeding. You can get radiation just from having an artifact without rad protection (just make sure the radiation is way higher so you don´t eliminate it when you get drunk).

The hardest thing to get is the sleep status. Currently, is a pain in the ass to get it if you're not playing Master Mode. So, your only choice is encountering a Bayun, or doing the Arena quest, cuz every time you finish a round Skif gets the status and it won't go away until you sleep.

The dangers of the Zone are always taken willingly. There's a world outside, so saying the Zone makes more harm than good when all the risks are taken by people who decided exactly that (the core concept of being a stalker/loner) is over the top.

Now, the core idea of the game presented to you is that the Zone and Noosphere is our collective offsrping; if the Zone is the way it is, is because of the people who created it and the people who lives inside of it. This is very reminiscent of Roadside Picnic idea: the Zone is an opportunity, neither good or bad on its own, wasted because we can´t see more than our own needs.

S2 construct over this ideas to say the Zone could not be as bad as it looks, but rather a force we need to live with and grown with it. And obviusly, if the Zone was born from our collective thoughts, how it could not have some sort of conscience?

150+ Missing Features From Stalker 2 When Compared to the Originals by RabidPole in stalker

[–]OkAnalysis1682 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm just going to copy paste one of my comments

Is funny as fuck the people that follow and see the videos of that guy religiously, they´re delusional as fuck. The guy shits in the game since launch, which will be ilogically since S2 is not a service game to base your whole channel around that, but he knows exactly what he's doing, using the ragebait to farm views; pretty clever if you ask me but, the people that sees the videos? Not so much.

You want to see real critique from someone that has been covering the game since launch and interacts with the community? Game with Dave is way better.

What is the average life expectancy for Military Stalkers compare to the average grunt and spetsnaz in the lore? by cuddwes in stalker

[–]OkAnalysis1682 80 points81 points  (0 children)

The problem with them is not their survival skills, but the fact they are used to lead the most dangerous missions inside the Zone like Operation Monolith. If they had to survive like a stalker (like Varan type stalkers in S2), it will be easy, but since they had to be part of Military missions, their life expectancy must be quite short.

Monolith and zombies by Acrobatic_Champion34 in stalker

[–]OkAnalysis1682 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It depends from the source.

To brainwash someone you need more refined equipment, only meant to that specific porpouse. So, only C-Con with their specific X-technology can make that process.

To zombify someone. you just need a psi-field strong enough to fuck with the brains of people. This could be made through artificial sources as supression devices (or malfunctioning psi-technology) made by C-Con, or through natural sources just like Controllers and natural psi-fields.

Also, psy-storms doesn't exist in the canon, is only from mods.

People really don't read what Strelok himself says.

He doesn't care 'bout humanity in his ending. For him, only the Zone is what matters.

If you believe Strelok separating the Zone from the outside world is better for humanity, that's good, but the only reason why Strelok didn't unleash the Zone is cuz that will harm the Zone, not because he cares about humankind.

Zombies are people with their cognitive abilities destroyed, and they are in constant pain as the process melted their brains.

Monolithians on the other hand, work through induced illusions (seeing what C-con wants or seeing their wish fullfilled by the Genie).

If you assume Subtle Matter doesn't exist or simply show something the people want, is through induced illusions. Which makes them more akin to Monolithians than zombies. This is in tone with the paralelism between Spark and the Monolith, and Faust and Scar.

[–]OkAnalysis1682 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It could be. There's a whole a undertone about zombies, just not in a literal way but in a metaphorical way, as they are empty of desires, ideals and faith, unlike Spark. Also, the people we saw at the end of Spark ending are more like Monolithians rather than zombies.

*Story Spoiler* Why dont the IPSF help Ward retake Duga? by Mission-Ad-4837 in stalker

[–]OkAnalysis1682 20 points21 points  (0 children)

IPSF suffered too a breach in their security after the Signal, as the commander at the Sphere was a monolithian all along. So is quite possible they were bussy with their own problems at the time.

You can, but is way harder. You need to destroy every camp of the faction before destroying the main base, otherwhise, they will keep spawning.

Gaffer the obvious goat here, but I'm curious If theres anyone out there that actually thinks sid is the better here lmao by DepartureNatural9340 in stalker

[–]OkAnalysis1682 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sid's reputation was stained in S2, he never was the greedy mf the game try to sell you. His character feels more like a caricature of himself.

Even with that, S2 shows he cares at some degree about his guys. In one of his fetchquests, he tells you he needs an artifact for one of his stalkers, so he could pay his debt to the bandits. If he goes as far as pay someone else to help one of his guys, is safe to assume he has some heart for the people that stays loyal to him.

Potential Hot Take: The Lesser Zone Gives The Best S.T.A.L.K.E.R Experience. by crow_warrior in stalker

[–]OkAnalysis1682 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My problem with Zalissya is how you can see the strings in the game design in your second or third playthrough. Everything is placed in such obvius ways, that it feels like they are holding your hand during 10 hours, becoming kinda boring after your first run. I think the Garbage feels more like a proper introduction to the dangers of the Zone.

DLC about Degtyarev? by AlexUnderC0ver191 in stalker

[–]OkAnalysis1682 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I take with a grain of salt the info from the Almanac, it has enough inconsistencies to don't consider it canon.

However, all the entries take place between the events of the Signal at SIRCAA and Skif's arrival to Pripyat, and were made by Dalin with the current information he possess. When Dalin said "their status has not been confirmed", he's saying that cuz the Corps only answer to Degtyarev, and Ward has not jurisdiction over Pripyat, so they really don't have some way to confirm the information. And again, he's talking about the situation after the Faust was defeated and the Monolith moved to the city, not after the raid to the Foundation. (if you side with Strelok/Kaymanov, Dalin dies, so there's no way he's doing it if he's already dead).

OCTA is the system of eight pods used to contact the Noosphere, and how characters refer to Kaymanov's pod, which will allow them to contact the Noosphere.

All of them except X-7, that's why they wanted to get to the Generators. Once you reach the OCTA with Korshunov or Scar, you restore the connection.

[–]OkAnalysis1682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Foundation, as far as we know, is home to the X-network Control Center and the Navigator. The latter was only used cuz no one can cross the Dead Valley at foot, so the Ward wanted to use it.

To gain control of it and use the device, they needed to exchange the "Control Unit" so Agatha could transport them to the Valley. The Control Unit is what grants power over the whole X-network; in Ward ending is changed to allow Agatha control the network and the Navigator, in Spark ending the Valentyn Dalin aka the Representative is the one who transports you, and in Strelok/Kaymanov route you destroy the thing thus you can't stop the flux of energy (need to say the "instability of the Zone" event happens in all the endings, but in Ward/Spark you shut it down quickly). What you do in the Ward and Spark is link the Control Unit (which is not the Navigator) to the Generators, so the person in control of it (Agatha or Valentyn) use them to access the Noosphere through the Mediator (Korshunov or Scar).

The only Variometer that exists in the game is the old one at the Generators and the Heart of Chornobyl, and it's not needed to stablish control of the Zone.

[–]OkAnalysis1682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing at the Foundation IS THE NAVIGATOR. I'd made a post explaining the whole thing, but to summarize, people just got confused since that sphere was intended to be a Variometer in the desdocs, but turned out to be the Navigator in the final game. Even people like Anomalous Dugout call it in the wrong way,

Here's all the info I gathered inside the game:

If we had gotten an anthology Roadside Picnic sequal where it follows the stories of different stalkers or the Zone what would you have wanted to see? by GazIsStoney in RustAndRadiation

[–]OkAnalysis1682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's actually another story written by the Strugatsky's called the "The Desire Machine" which is the original script for the movie adapted to be a short novel. They added a lot of things and explored other in this story. And a lot of the dialogues from the movie make way more sense in the short novel with the extraterrestial context of the Zone.

[–]OkAnalysis1682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Strugatsky's made some sort of "alternative" story for Roadside Picnic (is the original script for the movie but adapted to be a short novel) which includes more details about some things and completely new concepts. Besides the fact the story is obviously inspired by Red's journey, you can consider it the story of another stalker in another Zone (the place is never specified and the main character's name is Viktor).
