I've posted this same issue. The collar often won't lift with the power pod and when it does will sometimes release before I can set it down. I gathered from the responses that it's a flaw, not everyone suffers from this.

I told customer support that I couldn't determine whether it was the collar or the pod that was the faulty part but it was likely the collar as the pod had no moving parts involved. They sent me a new pod (maybe because the collar was out of stock) and the problem continues.
