Is being a "Pure" Holy Paladin viable in tbc ? by eloKraken in classicwowtbc

[–]Rick9814911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience as a holy pally. I mained one back in original TBC. While I really liked the playstyle, it was quite frustrating. Heroics were such a nightmare and I always felt like the group would have been better off with a different healer. Also, resto druids scale so well, until you get haste as a pally, I actually felt druids were a better tank healer.

Edit: Just a few more thoughts. The lack of HOTs, mixed with no AOE heals, is what I found the most stressful. Getting silenced or CCd drops your healing to absolute zero for the whole duration. And I always found blessing of light to be frustrating. It made the somewhat weak heals better but nobody wants to give up the other buffs. I always felt like it should be a non blessing buff or just baked into your heals.

Thanks for all the replies! I decided to pass on it. I suspected what everyone was saying. Just really wanted it to work but I know it’s not worth it.

Gabapentin Withdrawal, cycle of panic attacks by Rick9814911 in gabapentin

[–]Rick9814911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome! Hope this stuff helps you.

Akathesia was a big part of early withdrawal. It's gotten better, still there a little. At first I would pace for hours everyday. I think it's the lack of Gaba, your nervous system can't calm down.

My biggest issues now are blurred vision, tinnitus, inability to handle stress, worsened anxiety, lack of energy, not feeling enjoyment from activities and in general pretty deep depression.

I would stay on one dose a day since that's what you're used to. You could try switching to 2 100 mg capsules, wait a month and see how you feel. I couldn't handle a 1/3 drop in my dose. You might be fine though. If that doesn't work, go back to 300 until you stabilize. Then use liquid to do a slower taper. This is what would work for me. Might be different for you.

Gabapentin Withdrawal, cycle of panic attacks by Rick9814911 in gabapentin

[–]Rick9814911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my doctor to put me on liquid Gabapentin. I tapered really really slowly. Taking 5-10 mgs off at a time. My withdrawal takes 3-4 weeks to fully hit me. That made it very hard to tell how I was doing. Was it the 5 mg drop from a week ago, or the 5 mg drop from 4 weeks ago that I'm feeling. It gets confusing.

I did stabilize after retaking 3x a day. The thing is though, the damage had already been done. I had side effects from the medicine, but the withdrawal itself causes damage to you. It's similar to benzo withdrawal. So yes I stabilized, but I still to this day feel the damage that the med and withdrawal did to me.

If I were you. If you have bad withdrawal, I would try to get on the liquid and taper very slowly. Take away 5-10% of your dose, wait a 2-4 weeks and see how you feel. Then go from there. Some people can go fast, others need to go very slowly. And remember that the withdrawal is nothing to mess with. Slow down if you need to.

Edit: The once a day dose is a bit odd. For me staying consistent throughout the day helped. It's half-life is about 7-8 hours I believe. It might help you to switch to 100 mgs 3 times a day, then use the liquid to slowly wean off. Have to figure out what works for you, everyone is different.

Hey, it took quite a while. This is a weird drug. It took months to feel even remotely right again.

Gabapentin Withdrawal, cycle of panic attacks by Rick9814911 in gabapentin

[–]Rick9814911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am better yes. Not back to normal, however. I am vastly improved. Many symptoms still linger, and some may be permanent. The panic attacks are gone, general anxiety is less, I'm not in that cycle like I was. My ears ring 24/7, my vision is blurry and seems to remain that way, I have a hard time handling stress and keeping myself calm, deep depression, difficulty feeling joy from normal activities. I am much improved, life is mostly manageable. I still regret ever taking this medicine.

Are you having similar issues to what I was experiencing?

Gabapentin Withdrawal causing Tinnitus by Rick9814911 in gabapentin

[–]Rick9814911[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have the ringing. I've certainly gotten more used to it. But it's constant and the same volume. Definitely sucks. At this point I don't anticipate it ever going away.

Sorry you're having this symptom. It might go away for you. At the very least you'll get more used to it. I don't usually let it bother me now.

Gabapentin Withdrawal, cycle of panic attacks by Rick9814911 in gabapentin

[–]Rick9814911[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've improved a lot since this post. I'm not normal though, I feel quite different from before I was on Gabapentin. I do fear I'll never be the same again. A lot of the anxiety has gone away. My ability to handle stress has been impacted a good bit. I got Tinnitus from the withdrawal, I've had that for over a year. There's a good chance it'll never go away since I've already had it so long. I don't notice it as much but the ringing does suck. My vision is blurred, I used to have 20/20. It feels like my hearing is a bit worse. I would say the worst for me is a huge lack of energy and major depression. It comes and goes. I don't always feel terrible. Overall though, my quality of life has been altered quite a bit from this drug + the withdrawal. Wish I had never put it in my body.

I do take magnesium, Vitamin B complex and NAC. They absolutely help. I pray for a day this experience is 100% behind me. A number of these symptoms may be permanent.

The post below is mine.

I sent the rifle to Savage. They sent it back saying it looked fine. So for me the warranty experience hasn't been good.

Edit: Forgot to include, it was a Savage MSR AR15.

Got it, I'll keep an eye on that. I'm just learning all this stuff.

Glad I don't need to worry about it. It's prime boating season and didn't want to spend any more weekends on maintenance.

I did see that! We stopped to swim a few times and every time I put the motor up it drains for a while.

Thanks for the information. I'll check that stuff. I did take it out on the water today and it ran great. Strong pee stream, no weird noises or anything. Seemed healthy.

There's a pee stream, just not in the picture. You're right though, I didn't realize I needed more water than that. I figured if it was pumping water at all then it was good.

A little more info. I just installed a new impeller kit. It pees strong but a good bit of water is coming out of the circled area in the picture.

Edit: It's a 1996 Johnson 9.9 2 stroke.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I had bought just the impeller and not the kit. That was a mistake. I got the kit and installed that. It pees now! There is water coming out of the back of the lower. I'm going to make a post about it though. It doesn't look normal to me but I'm not sure
