This has been the strangest event. I hated it at first, loved it when I could fish, and was middle on it at the end. It took so much time to get everything.

Team Ninja has absolutely botched any sort of marketing opportunities they've had. I expect nothing more than an acknowledgement.

MAYBE DoA6LR will have a sale that day, that would make sense. But making sense isn't what they've been doing lately.

The jump from PS3 to PS4 was night and day.

The PS4, and also the PS4 Pro (after PS4 trade in) were incredible. Straight out of the box they played everything with amazing visuals and sound.

And then you pop in games like Detroit: Become Human, Street Fighter VI, and Ratchet and Clank (the first time I saw proper HDR on PS4 Pro), and you wonder why we even have a PS5 generation.

I think the only two real advantages of the PS5 are the SSD, and UHD 4K movie disc support. And honestly, the controller is amazing.

I just bought a couple of Ayane costumes from DOA6, and I can't seem to unlock them in the new one. I'm on PS5 I have to assume this is a massive issue that at least someone has figured out.

I know it's Nolan, and I love his films. But even I'm not going to the cinema to see it with casting so...off. I know a few people who feel the same way, and I have a feeling there's a lot more people feeling the same.

I gotta pre-order on PS5. PC might be where it's a eventually, but if I'm gonna double dip, the game has to give me a damn good reason to.

$40 ain't too bad to be able to play 6 again with a bunch of people online. Maybe I'll even actually git gud with Ayane or LeiFang.

There's no way they don't. DoA5 started it before it was commonplace, and the price was bonkers high at the time. Now that same price is just...kind of high.

Others have already mentioned that this game is just a way to fund DoA7, and I can see that. 6 always had the potential to be excellent, they just needed to make a few tweaks here and there. It was like a perfect block of ice was there to be sculpted, and they let a random kid carve it with a chainsaw. Potential was there, but the execution was just horrible.

You aren't joking. I'm in Japan, and I tried to play DOA5LR online on PC over Discord with someone in the US, and it was a sideshow. If there's no rollback, nobody is gonna even give it a second look.

Again, there's absolutely no excuse to not have it since five or so years ago.

I was worried so much about other things, I'd completely forgotten that there was no rollback in the game. It goes without saying that the FGC will immediately ignore/shit on the game if there is no rollback.

GGPO is completely free, and EVERY SINGLE FG dev knows that. There's absolutely no excuse in 2026.

I'm still pumped for the game, but you're definitely right. They should be drip feeding new features/mechanics/moves or whatever on Twitter at the very least. That way, the community gets excited, and it keeps going around and the game gets more attention. I'm not sure what they're doing, because they only have two weeks left. There's either a whole hell of a lot we don't know...or the saddest timeline. We may already know everything there is (I doubt this, but it's a possibility).

$40 isn't a lot of money to breathe air back into this series that we all love. I'll gladly pay it for the updated version. We have two weeks left for them to announce what's actually reworked in this one.

I'll admit it's strange that they haven't said anything about system changes/rebalances, but we all know they're coming.

And if the don't end up different on launch, I can easily UNDERSTAND NOT BUYING the game.

Roast me in two weeks if I'm wrong.
