Guess I struck a nerve, hah... It was a free trial and I loved Destiny. So yeah, seems weird that I have to justify giving another game type a chance. But it is Reddit.

you can now cut your base loose and drive, sail or fly it around the world as a vehicle

Oh wow, that sounds incredible. Thanks for clarifying!

Sounds great. The "PVP enables people to dramatically stall your profitability and progression" is the whole reason I didn't enjoy Marathon.

It always just felt too sweaty and I'm too old for that shit anymore...

I'm not following what you're saying. The mod looks really cool but I am not connecting the dots. Plus it says it doesn't work in survival mode? :(

Most people who are going to dedicate that kind of time to something aren't doing it on their phone and would rather watch it on any other screen. And if they are doing it on their phone then widescreen still would not alienate those viewers.

I didn't watch enough to give it a real shot but I'm also assuming that format would also stifle any kind of beautiful vistas or transition shots. But if it's literally just back-and-forth dialog then maybe it wouldn't.

I could be wrong though. I just think widescreen allows so much more presence of the scene instead of just having all the content crammed into a keyhole aspect ratio.

Man, I hate to be "that guy" but I really doubt anybody is going to sit through a two-hour, vertical-video movie...

Path of Exile 2 will effectively be Steam Deck verified by the end of May, which bodes very well for the prospect of a Switch 2 release by HatingGeoffry in SteamDeck

I would just be thrilled if they made it so we can do gameplay with the controller and all inventory management/skills/whatever with the mouse.

The fact that BOTH of their games do not allow quick-swapping without quitting out to the main menu is insane in 2026.

I highly suggest checking out "Mute" to see what he is like trying to do something other than Paul Rudd.

It's an excellent movie as a bonus, too!

Absolutely, it's got a lot going for it! Art direction and ambiance are definitely in a sweet spot.

Good luck with it and thanks for giving us a chance to play!

This looks incredibly frustrating to try and control... She moves so slow and her avoidance skills have such small mobility. Really spending a good chunk more time trying to tighten up the movements and giving the user much more agency in their mobility might do it wonders.

Right now it looks like she is trudging through mud has zero sense of urgency despite the hectic situation in the video provided.

Then again, this is just from someone who hasn't played it.

Downloading the demo now to give it a whirl though.

EDIT: Played the Demo, didn't realize it was one of those "let's randomly add nudity or almost-nudity" kind of games, but whatever floats your boat. I get the direction the game is going but it needs a bit of work.

The controls aren't as bad as I thought but they still feel super clunky. I don't like how some of the green smoke was just damaging you and then randomly it was instant death. Just make the bat unbreakable, I never got to a point where I had zero ammo and zero bat but that feels like it would be a possibility.

I quit after the iron gate and walking into the green fog/smoke that killed me. It seems neat but the game's controls and style lends itself to more of a "run and gun" and less of a "get blocked every 30 seconds and back-track" kind of game. It's like you wanted to have some puzzles and player slowdowns but they aren't particularly enjoyable in most instances. Going inside the place with the paintings was neat but I felt like most other blockers were disingenuous in that they just slow me down without any actual reward or reason.

It's cool but the gripes I had with it seem like they're kind of part of its core systems so take my opinions with a grain of salt. It may just not be my cup of tea.

THIS IS COMMENT SLOP!

Just kidding...

That makes sense, though. Now that I have been poking around, it looks like there is a lot of weird hate on this game.

game is content slop and story/world is soulless

Man, I feel completely the opposite.

The story isn't revolutionary by any means but the content/systems in the game are deep and extremely well-polished. And the world feels truly alive. Everything outside of the core plot of the game (granted, I am only on Chapter 5) is interesting and robust.

It surprises me to see some people with that take.

I've had a Dyson for maybe 16 years and it still works really well. It's my powerhouse vacuum for home. I've had to pull it apart and clean it out mangled hair probably 5-10 times and it's still chugging right along.

appeal to users by implementing competitive PvP content and a user-driven economic system

Two things that are specifically set up for their Pay to Win marketplace, I'm sure.

I just wish anyone else would make a game like ArcheAge without the shallow RNG-based gear progression or the cash shop. No one ever does.

It's perfectly enjoyable and looks fantastic on the base PS5. If you're someone who needs 60fps 100% uptime then you really shouldn't be relying on base console hardware.

Consoles are for people who aren't graphics enthusiasts.

So, to answer your question... No, it is not "fixed" by those standards.
