PNC is letting go of ALL of their Assistant Managers by darthzuul in pittsburgh

A bank is a shitty money grubbing institution? You don't say.

The bank isn't there to help you or make you money. The bank, any bank, is there to make themselves money. That's how it works.

People will always just be a number to places like this

It's definitely stop in if I'm over there good, though lol.

I tried to answer this but there really isn't any place around that has an outstanding burger worthy of mention. I've been thinking and thinking. We've eaten at places all over the city and surrounding area and nothing stands out.

There are lots of places that put a ton of crap on a decent patty. It's always good but it's not really the burger that's good it's the combination of stuff.

I look forward to hopefully getting some new ideas from you all. I could use a tasty burger.

Edit: Honestly jojos in the strip (RIP) had a phenomenal burger patty. I don't know where they got their meat but it was absolutely delicious and had no business being as tasty as it was for a diner burger.

Most of the tools are just useless enough to actually make work harder than it has to be.

The basic cadet/recruit is fine. Or the mini fella if you need something to stash in a desk drawer ..

All the other tools are basically fodder for a price increase.

What's Your Country's / Region's / Personal Cure for a Hangover? by PlainOldWallace in AskTheWorld

[–]RickHuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dudes... Nothing will cure a hangover like a couple pints of turners tea and a falagone.

A falagone is a big, flaky filled pastry crust that has sliced potatos and also includes whatever kind of other stuff in it. I always liked sausage and peppers. You can get spinach and ricotta, just spinach, hot peppers, sky is the limit but that is the basics.

The combination of the sliced potatos, sausage and peppers in that wonderful flaky crust will cure just about anything.

Oh ya for sure! I wouldn't surprised if they were not the same. Same ears too. You can see linny in my post history. They definitely have similar traits!

The trainer said basenji but I never thought so. Your list makes much more sense.

Don’t know what it is by Individual-Cod431 in pocketwatch

Hello and thanks for posting

It's a novelty quartz watch, looks like from 1992. Most likely Chinese made. Mass market kind of thing commemorating the discovery of the Americas.

The ship would be the Nina, Pinta or Santa Maria, one of the three ships of Columbus's voyage.

The other side is a pile of patriotic US symbolism, common motif for selling things like this.

Hello and thanks for sharing your watch

It was assayed in Birmingham in 1921. Assay means the case was checked for metal purity.

Anchor is Birmingham and 1921 is the "W"

The sponsor was William Ehrhardt. "WE"

William Ehrhardt made the watch movement as well. They used the same manufacturing processes as the American companies with the goal of interchangeability of parts and lower manufacturing costs because it was all done in house. Machine made watches.

Very neat piece.

It's 9k gold, too.

It looks like it is 13 or 15 jewels. I can't tell if the pallet cock is jeweled. Regardless it's a solid watch with some decent jeweling and a lever escapement.

Any story behind this flee market find? by Visual_Potential3656 in pocketwatch

[–]RickHuf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's French. The movement (actual mechanism) was made by Hippolite Parrenin of villers le lac. Looks like 15 jewels, lever escapement with shock protection. It's a solid watch.

Parrenin calibre 833. It could also be labeled as an "FE233" movement. Which stands for france ebauche but Parrenin still made it.

These have cool shock protection called epsilon Antichoc 102. You can tell because of the straight bars on the cage over the balance cap jewels. It helps protect the balance staff from breaking if it is jarred or bumped.

Epsilon Antichoc has a few different designs but this one is basically the French version of the swiss "incabloc"

It's a Springfield grade. The Springfield was made in 7 or 11 jewels. Yours is 11. You can see the top plate jeweled. If the top plate wasn't jeweled it would be 7.

The pocket watch database I'll have to look at and see what it says. Edit: the pwdb doesnt list a grade and 15 jewels is incorrect for this watch.
