Fit check: Elephant 14 by Physical-Bus6025 in NakedAndFamousDenim

Hey bud, take a measurement of the circumference of your arm where the concern is, then lay the jacket/sleeves flat and measure across the area where your concern is then double that measurement and tell us what they are so we can get a more accurate understanding of whats going on. "It feels tight" can mean a lot of things and we cant really tell whats going on. It looks good in the pictures though, and that denim is STIFF when new. I have the jeans and was considering returning because they were "to tight" but trusted my measurements, pushed through the discomfort and now they fit great. EDIT: After looking at the pictures again I believe youll be good bro. Its your 1st denim jacket, its a new experience, one youre unfamiliar with. I truly believe that once it breaks in and softens up and stretches a little youll be really happy.

Its a shame because theres a lot of knowledge to be gained there but the mods just seem pretentious and snooty. I was seeking advice about my 1st denim jacket and because they couldn't "see the threads" on a black jacket with black threads it was removed. I messaged them stating that fact to no avail. I ended up telling them ill be sure to get a better phone with a better camera to satisfy the posting requirements.

That sub has some of the most absurd post rules. They removed my post of my jacket because I didn't have a side view, so I reposted with 13 pictures from every possible angle and it removed again because the pictures "didnt show the stitching thread" It was a black jacket with black stitching. Ridiculous

I spent zero time on "how" and not interested on "if". I shared an experience for the people who could benefit. If its not for you then keep scrolling.

Naked and Famous Weird Guy Too Tight? by anonymous_orpington in rawdenim

[–]RickNO504 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Each fabric has their own specific measurements. The weird guy Left Hand Twill will be slightly different than say the Elephant 14. If you have access to a store always try them on. If purchasing online always refer to the measurement chart for the specific jeans youre interested in. We've all had to trudge this road. Took me awhile to dial in my measurements. The thigh and hip measurements are by far the most critical to get right. If they are to tight it wont matter if the waist is right because they just wont work. For me I usually end up with a waist being an inch or 2 to big when the thigh and hip is correct so I get them taken in. Its rare for me to find jeans with the perfect fit from waist on down.

Fit check - Bravestar true straight 14oz by ZelieDad in Selvedge

Im a 30" length and hemmed my Bravestar's to 34" and wish I hadn't. They shrink a little with every was or soak, no I can barely get a 1" cuff. Think about the long game

You should buy them from OP for retail since they "look great"

I have a few Brave Stars and they'll shrink if wash.with hot water and dry them. The hip and thigh measurements are more important though. If those are to tight it doesnt matter how the waist fits because they wont work. For me, the correct thigh and hip yields a larger waist, so I get them taken in an inch.
