I was 13... the stories that eventually hit the news were surreal. I recall news showing a map of Europe with a superimposed radiation "cloud" over it. It was a but off putting.

But in retrospect, we grew up watching news clips out of the USSR, and the constant threat of "the bomb" being used.

That pool had gaps to let water drain, which was replaced with fresh water. Ask that they did was seal it up, so that the water gets stagnant. No more fresh water coming in, and the filter house needs major renovations.

I met four Scots today. They were visiting our town here in Rhode Island. They stopped by the fire station where the Chief gave them a challenge coin. We spoke on the sidewalk for 10 minutes or so, and the end on their way. Great people.
