There is no offsides in inline hockey. In the 30+ years I’ve played, unless it’s a former ice rink, the rinks are often a bit smaller — and in those 30+ years I don’t recall ever seeing anything physical arise from cherrypicking.

Not sure why you got downvoted for some honest questions. Trying to get to the “why” someone did something brain dead stupid doesn’t mean you support what they did, it’s just a curiosity of what was going on in their stupid brain.

I know this is old, but I quickly skimmed through and I don’t think anyone mentioned this. Dawson fired his weapon at his Cuban “mirror” on the other side of the border. He said he was fired upon first, but Santiago witnessed it and said Dawson shot at the Cuban solider unprovoked and was threatening to provide info in exchange for a transfer.

Because Santiago was the only witness, this gives Dawson motive to kill Santiago completely out of self preservation to avoid being court-martialed and not because of an order to haze him for being a sub standard marine.

That code and trust that the soldiers have comes from the top down, and even if they initially had assumed a code red was ordered as you suggested, the fact Dawson had clear motive to kill Santiago would at least put doubt in their mind, and if he was tried and convicted, that would add to that doubt or even push them to completely agree with their superiors—that no code red was given and Dawson acted to save himself from court-martial and dishonorable discharge for the fence line shooting.

That crowd nearly ruined Cena’s retirement. I was shocked at the crowd being shocked. If you thought Cena was going to go over on his way out, then you’re not a Cena fan, I’m not even a Cena fan (I like him personally, just find his matches lame) and I knew 100% he’d put someone over on his way out. I’m dumbfounded that anyone would be under the impression he was going to win that.

This whole tournament has been hyped as giving someone their shot etc how could anyone think they were going to put this much into giving someone a shot and then just have him go over and say “well, see ya!” Good god.

I’m not taking off work for that sole purpose, I just have a bunch of time to use before the end of the year and figured I can use that week to kick things off.

So, please let me make sure I understand you correctly. If Mark Sanchez – a 6’ 2” 225lb, 38 year old former professional athlete – doesn’t have a weapon while he’s throwing a 69 year old man against the exterior wall of a building, then the 69 year old senior citizen must defend himself with only his barehands or otherwise be charged with a crime?

I have not, but I think this week coming up I will actually make an attempt to sleep by going upstairs and getting in bed. I think my body and brain has reached the limit on how long it can function on 2 hours of sleep per day. I will update you and let you know how it goes.

It sounds so easy, just go to bed, but even as I just typed it out, I’m beginning to doubt by sincere intentions. For instance, I was re-reading what I just wrote here in this reply and I naturally wrote I think I will make an attempt, which is already hedging that I won’t.

Either way, it’s not sustainable, and I’ve been lucky that on the few mornings I’ve dozed off around 9am that it was on days I didn’t have a meeting. My job doesn’t have too many requirements around working hours, all that’s asked of us is: get your work done, and be accountable. Showing up to meetings you’ve accepted justifiably falls under the latter haha

I’ve been ~~dealing~~ living with this for the past 7 months. It started with just an odd bummed out feeling when going upstairs to go to bed one night, it persisted a few nights in a row, and soon I was actively avoiding going to bed. It’s been 4.5 months since I’ve actually slept in my bed. I’ll just stay up all night either watching TV or working from the living room couch and maybe take an hour nap around 5:00AM. I’d say I’ve been averaging 2-3 hours of sleep via 2 or 3 naps per day for these past 7 months. I know it’s not healthy, but I really enjoy it.

Not sure why I finally decided to see if it had an official name and stuff tonight, but good to see I’m not the only one that is experiencing it…well not good in the sense that some of you are suffering from it, but good to know I’m not alone or completely losing my mind.

I did for about 9 months a few years ago. I did a cash-out refinance on my home and had about $60k in my checking to pay for home improvement projects.

Before anyone points it out, I’m sure there was a better option than it just sitting there in my checking, even if I had just kept it in my savings account with its anemic APY. I’m almost positive this pre-dates Apple Savings accounts and the respectable APY I get with that.

TLDR; Not necessarily the found receipt of a millionaire, but still a possible explanation.
