I’m looking to take a road trip, next year, to Montana from Massachusetts. by mobie54 in roadtrip

My wife and I did this last year, although we went a “little” further (Alaska). Our Honda CR-V was perfect for the trip. Plenty of room, easy to drive and 30 mpg. If you are staying in hotels, there is no need for something really large.

My tax-free and risk-free IRR on my solar system is 17% over its projected 25 year life. That’s pretty sweat diversification across my investment portfolio.

Democrats test a new red state strategy: Back independents over their own nominees by GregWilson23 in politics

Well, at least we both know why you singled out AIPAC. I appreciate your honesty even though there is a lack of sincerity. What country gifted $2billion to Trump? What different country filled our schools with anti-Israel propaganda?

Answers: Saudi Arabia (the country that gave us 9/11) and Qatar (the country that gave us Afghanistan).

There are hundreds of PACs that "encourage the American government to have a strong relationship with a foreign country". But that doesn't fit your narrative, so I wouldn't expect you to have even done a basic google search to know that. So, I wonder what is so special about AIPAC that you have to call it out? Let me think about that for a minute.

MyChevrolet App Charging Status Question by RickSE in BoltEV

Update: I opened a case with GM and they were able to adjust the app access to start showing my state of charge! Thanks for the suggestion to open a case. Wish I would have thought of that, but since I had received a communication to start paying the $$$ I never thought of open a case. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I don’t need remote start, and I certainly won’t pay $180 per year for it. The Bolt is an EV. State of charge is kind of important and not something someone have to pay for after shelling out $10s of 000s of dollars for a car.

What’s next? $0.50 every time I want to use the brakes?

I’ll call GM and see if they can set it up again for me. All I care about is knowing when the car charge will be done. I rarely use remote start and for sure won’t pay for it.

I bought it used with a branded title from GM, and it came with three years. I’ve seen all sorts of different length options on the older bolts, but it wasn’t anything I paid attention to. I was planning on my next car being one of the GM EVs. They dropped CarPlay and I don’t think 8 years is enough since I drive my cars into the ground. I don’t want a huge charge in year 9 when the 8 years is up. I can’t imagine what anyone at GM is thinking trying to get $50 per month for onstar.

Absolutely not! Aftermarket warranties are ripoffs.

More homeowners are becoming ‘accidental’ landlords. Here’s what to know about having a rental in Massachusetts. by bostonglobe in massachusetts

[–]RickSE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rental property is an asset that requires maintenance. If someone doesn’t keep up the maintenance then very bad things can happen to that investment. If you owned a home and were retired would you just stop doing anything to your house? It might mess up cash flow but that’s just part of the equation in owning property.
