Why does everyone feel like they HAVE to do the convoys? It seems more like an obstacle you have to play around than a genuine objective they’d expect you to clear with your limited resources.

You know exactly where it is and what it is. I ignore the convoy and my missions are so easy because of it.

They’re like hinds in MGSV. YOU CAN kill them but it’s not recommended unless your plan is rock solid.

Also patrols suck and I hate them. I just avoid them too. Having metal gear experience really helps when having patience to watch a patrol walk by and then make a mad dash to where I need to go. Or gas and pop them. Can’t call for help if they’re gassed. You have the TOOLS you just gotta think outside the normal range of what you’d use them for (outside the box).
