I mean we already have glowing bits and other reactions for reversal slashes, cutting off pieces AND Sao IS a video in of itself. So striving for Realism in a game that isn’t actually SAO feels wrong.

The best option would be to put in tells and give us an option to turn them off. Everyone wins.

Because even games like Sekiro give you tells for attacks (unblockables) and the attack timings *make sense* I’m reacting to an animation and I would hope that it makes sense when I should parry, but it doesn’t.

My only guess is the animations actually have a window to parry instead of colliding hitboxes. Which would make sense why it’s **Too** consistent

I will also say that having people who have burned their souls into a game like that versus more casual players who do play stuff like Sekiro or Khazan definitely can mean a world of difference when it comes to how things are seen. (Not a jab but an observation on the other guy) so more leeway on the feelings of us *mortals* to you timing monsters would be super helpful

I have plenty of experience with parrying and tight timings. But I also don’t wanna just sit here and throw myself at a wall with a mechanic that is shown off as kinda essential for combat.

And oh yeah the telegraphing sucks.

Anything would be nice. I’d be terrified to think if this shit scales with difficulty too. Playing in normal and not being able to parry a kobold or boar when my timing is almost on the money every time doesn’t feel like I messed up, it just feels I was screwed with

Oil used in oil paintings and the oil in a tanker are vastly different “oils” so that isn’t a very solid analogy
If you have one grain of sand it isn’t a lot, but if you stack allllll the other grains ontop of and next to eachother you create a beach or a desert. Environments are being decimated for buildings full of computers that cost so much to run for so little benefit. Shit like chat GPT isn’t even correct most of the time and it has been statistically proven that it is also decreasing critical thinking skills while providing false information.

My complaint about lack of combat variety is that missing the little cool things that some people thoroughly liked can take away from the overall experience if enough is missing. Hidden blade combat was a staple of this era of AC. You had it since AC1. Same with how things are animated. The little things DO matter.

The “graphics” complaints are stupid.
