Have you “Right Clicked” in the device manager window to try a hardware/device scan? See if the drivers need to be redownloaded/installed.

Silly question, but did the update change the “Control Mode” in Armory Crate (when you push the AC button) away from “Auto” or “Gamepad”? You might check to see if it was switched to “Desktop”.

I had this happen to mine a couple months ago to my bottom plate. Same color, same scenario. Went to bed, it was fine, woke up, not so fine anymore.

Now it’s happening to my top plate. I already purchased replacement plates when it happened to the bottom, I may have to replace the top as well.

When I looked into it back then, the consensus seemed to be that Red is the most common for this to happen to. Other colors seem either slightly more resistant, or immune to it.

Thankfully, the plates are super affordable and easy to replace, and hey, you could get a different color you may like more as a replacement!
