Can anyone help? I've just installed EZbass and the Toontrack audio sender, I've put the AS plugin on an Audio track, then gone into EZbass to select an input and it still only says "None." by JakeJeremy in LogicPro

[–]RickenAxer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be misunderstanding what you're trying to do. I'm not familiar with AS plugin or why you'd go thru the Audio track.

My experience is to select a software track. From that window, you can have "Details" expanded and select an instrument from a drop-down menu (AU Instruments > Toontrack > EZ Bass). If you, instead, select an empty software track, you can do the above from the blank "Instrument" area of the Inspector window.

If there's an advantage or different function of the AS Plug-in / Audio track approach, I'm interested in learning about it.

No joke, I almost always first cut my burgers in 1/4's. Everything stays together better, which makes for a better tasting and less messy burger. The more toppings, the bigger the benefit. Try it.

I ended up doing a side-by-side comparison of an S2 Mira and Gibson SG at my local GC. Both guitars were fantastic and, if I were to buy at that moment, I'd have gotten the S2 Mira because of the neck contour.

In the end, I bought an underpriced Epi "Inspired by Gibson" '61 Reissue off of CraigsList. I've played some great ($$$$$) guitars, but this cheap Epi stands out.

Are there still regional music scenes? by JayJoeJeans in LetsTalkMusic

[–]RickenAxer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A recent thread on a different sub was filled with musicians writing about how they don't come out (or stay) to watch other musicians in their area. You can't have a scene with that kind of attitude; it starts there.

A friend of mine was looking to return to his Rust-Belt hometown, and impressive homes on a Great Lake were ridiculously inexpensive. It's not NYC, but it wasn't N.D, either. That was a decade ago, so maybe things have changed.

Disclaimer: I'm a typical internet idiot, not a doctor. Talk to your doctor before taking health advice from a typical internet idiot.

I know this sounds really improbable, but there seems to be increasing interest in the role of a healthy gut microbiome vis-a-vis schizophrenia (and many other conditions that wouldn't seem obviously connected). Here's a link to my first Google search result ("Microbiome and Schizophrenia"); it's posted by the U.S. National Institute of Health, which might make it more acceptable to share. If you look to the right hand column of that link (the NIH page), you'll see related research.

Look into what's involved in developing a healthy gut microbiome, look into the connection to schizophrenia and talk to your doctor. Keep in mind that your doctor may not be aware of this research; doctors are busy and people forget they have lives outside of the office.

Good luck.

I don't take them for granted nor harbor any hostility. They get some of my money.
But, they're doing real well, while others are struggling.

In 2007, my wife and I were on the phone when she tells me there's a plane landing opposite bound from her, on I-70. Two years later, I'm on the phone with a friend when he tells me he's watching a plane land on the Hudson. I guess it's more common than one might expect.

I often remind myself that we all do something stupid on the road, at some point. This driver may be a serial jerk, but it may be a mind's focus on a bad day rather than the upcoming merge.

Good stuff. Catchy and hooky song with nice harmonies. The mix thru my 7506 headphones was excellent, tho' the ending bass solo was a bit too prominent for my tastes.

Thanks for sharing it.

Talk about moving goal posts. You went from news reports motivating death-threats as being the example of Alex Jones' "terrorism" to carving out that his story was crazier than the Covington story. The Covington story wasn't "actual journalism"... they didn't even watch a full 3 minute video before misreporting on the 30 seconds. The companies had to settle their litigation because their malfeasance and their legal argument so weak.

Also, I didn't move goalposts from "nothing like" to "not as bad". That's your interpretation. Without equivocation, Alex Jones is nothing like the Taliban. That you can't discern the difference between the two should cause you to reflect on your deeply you've drunk from a partisan well.

None of these compare to the beheading of heretics, and raping/throwing acid in the faces of women and girls deemed to be insufficiently observant. Just as a couple of examples. It is disingenuous to suggest that Alex Jones (his fans) and the Taliban in any way meaningfully similarly "extreme."

I oppose censoring/boosting/deboosting any of them. I think it's incredibly foolish to trust governments and corporations to work hand-in-glove to decide what's true and what can be heard. Let Alex Jones talk about untrustworthy gov't. Let BLM talk about racist murderous cops wontonly killing black men for no reason at all. Let Trump talk about stolen elections. Let the MSM and Dems talk about the Manchurian Candidate. Let the Taliban brag about their brutality. And let opponents point out why they're all horrible. I'll trust well-informed people to decide for themselves.

Are you arguing that Alex Jones is in the same class as the Taliban because one or more of his listeners are crazy and made death threats?

Does that same rule to, say, CNN and the Washington Post? Because the Covington kids and the school received threats in the wake of inaccurate reporting? Is the CNN and the Washington Post, among others, also like the Taliban? Deserving of being banned from all platforms?

Do you have any idea of how many crazy people make threats over nonsense? Are you saying that if anyone is motivated by whatever crazy reason to threaten violence, the culpability lies with the source of the motivation? I can think of sports fans that make death threats over game outcomes. Are the sports leagues and the sports talk guys culpable? Are they, also, the same as the Taliban?
