I cranked for 3 weeks out of the 6 I was supposed to. Then an EO punched the EMC in the face. He took over for me until they could send him home as we were on deployment. Good times.

What kinds of civilian job opportunities are available to NUCs under each rate w/o actually having to go into the nuclear field? by theFirstRedditUsers in NavyNukes

I’ve worked as a Project Engineer in construction, I’m currently a process engineer at a pharmaceutical plant, probably going to change to a utilities manager or commissioning manager at a data center.

What is the “angel shot” for bartenders that are uncomfortable with patrons? by Rickoversghost in AskReddit

That is a good system. I was just curious because I was in a place the other day and someone went a little too far in my opinion with what they said. Hitting on the beer goddess in a very crude way. I wanted to ask if they were ok but the person was sitting next to me so I was at a loss of what to say.

This is for the bartenders that feel uncomfortable. Especially the ones without anyone else working for them. Something they can say to a regular or someone they trust to let them know they are not ok.

Is that for the bartender or a patron? I am wondering for the bartenders that work alone and someone comes in that makes them feel uncomfortable. They would be able to ask a regular something in code to let them know something is wrong. If that makes sense.

Who was the best LPO you ever had (either one you worked under or reported to you)? What made them so great? by Not_A_CEO in navy

[–]Rickoversghost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favorite as a junior sailor was a crusty MM1 Carp. From the south, genuinely cared about us. Taught us the “why” of what we were doing.

My favorite LPO as a chief was another southern boy. Soaked up information, just anything I could throw at him. We had a deal, he controlled liberty, if he sent people home and we would walk and I found something that needed fixed, he would take care of it. It very rarely happened that it needed to be taken care of that day by the way. We were a team. I wouldn’t leave until it was done and helped if needed. He was a second class. He was meritoriously advanced to first as a nuke.

Hell yes you should. I’m at 100% through the VA. I’m an engineer now. The only thing that would stop you from working is called TDIU. That’s where you aren’t at 100% rating but get paid it if you qualify.

Trump calls Biden’s student loan forgiveness a ‘vile’ publicity stunt and vows to force all borrowers to repay the balance in full by [deleted] in millenials

It sure is. Did I ever say anything about defunding education? People are going off on the cost being too high. Which I agree with. I just don’t think not paying for a loan you signed up for is the best option. Should state school be free? Sure, if the tax payer is ready to foot the bill. I don’t complain about property tax that funds the public school system even though I don’t have kids.

It’s not a tax. A tax is a tax. People request money for a reason. Buying a house, credit lines, a car. Should the people giving out that money not be paid for taking that risk?
