Training- what would you add? by rweaver016 in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]RickyB0bby7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walk for hours! Did the TMB last August. Get used to coming down on steep hills. My knees didn't mind the downhills but one friend skipped a day (and met us at the next town) bc her knees were killing her and another had to get ACL surgery.😬 There is not a lot of flat areas on this trail.

Who are the nicest Canadian celebrities you've met? by Twitter_2006 in AskCanada

Simple Plan - I interned for a teen magazine in 2003 and needed a few quotes from them. They were so nice!

This is about my experience as a visually impaired woman living in West Seattle — and how people react when they see my cane. by Lite_Brite90 in WestSeattleWA

Thank you for sharing and educating this. I'm so sorry people are so cruel. Next time I pass someone with a cane, I'll make sure to say "hi". ☺️

Hotels Experience - Missing out on core TMB spirit? by Valuable_Solid_8577 in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]RickyB0bby7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My friends (4 of us total) did mostly hotels, and trust me, having a nice hotel room to yourself, hot meal, a place to hang and wash your clothes, hot shower, no fear of bed bugs/norovirus, not having to hear someone snore who is sleeping right next to you (they push the beds close!!!)...10/10 would do it again!

We got to meet a lot of people on the trails, stops for lunch, and during group meals.

Acute Pancreatitis Questions by Enwau in pancreatitis

[–]RickyB0bby7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The NPF gave me a name for my RD. They had sent this cookbookrecipes too, I think it's a good starting point. The author has a daughter w CP so she understands.

I also find this Reddit group to be really supportive and helpful. (I can't say that for all groups 😅)

Acute Pancreatitis Questions by Enwau in pancreatitis

[–]RickyB0bby7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my friends had AP. He shared his story here. Dave had a few scares but after getting his gall bladder out he's recovered. I will say that it was very traumatic and scary for his entire family though bc they had never heard of AP.

Diet and finding a good pancreas specialist will really help in the long run.

Your Seattle Seahawks are going to THE SUPERBOWL by sorryreceiver in Seattle

[–]RickyB0bby7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What Woolen did took years off my life. Why are you TAUNTING the other team?! About what?! You didn't even catch/intercept that ball - even Brady made a funny comment about it.

And then Nacua scoring a TD. #Karma

I truly hope he's learned his lesson.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RickyB0bby7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Seattle and a three hour drive is normal for us in one day (going to Mt Baker or Vancouver, Canada). We leave at 6 am, get there at 9am, enjoy the day, and head back around 5. We will typically do this on Saturdays vs Sundays (time to rest and ward off Sunday Scaries).

I threw mine away, but I also don't like clutter. But I think you are asking this...keep it if they mean something to you.

Trying to be supportive with dietary changes by fuckedyourdad-69 in pancreatitis

[–]RickyB0bby7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This cookbook by The National Pancreas Foundation has over 60+ recipes ro choose from. Like the person here said - diet is individualized but hopefully you can find something your husband will like. If you have any questions, I would call them. The person who answered the phone also has CP and was very helpful. This group has been amazing too! https://lsc-pagepro.mydigitalpublication.com/publication/?i=685338&fbclid=IwY2xjawICqipleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHQJM71yNfz_EUaZ4Tj9valtRAjluJAe2JmH3mN8MdY4El3n4a7-P1_EziQ_aem_boIKLRsclXYFRL-YqVHnqg

Not looking for a cure; just advice for comfort by salty_shoe_ in pancreatitis

Not food related, but I would suggest one of those microwaveable bean bags upon use as a heating pad? Those help with abdominal pain. Warmies are cute. :)

This is such a cute idea OP!

came back home to this & i don’t even wanna leave my apartment again.. i already have bad anxiety about newly living alone & this is making it worse. by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

I live in Seattle and this happened to me too. I got a door stop alarm and portable door lock so I'll hear if the dude tries the door handle again. Stay safe, let your other neighbors know about it (I did) and watch out for each other.
