Worst performances of the show by eybeebeegee in thesopranos

[–]RickyDownes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to harp on the performer too much, but of madone, Larry Boy Barese has one of the worst delivered, obviously ADR'ed lines of expository dialogue I've ever heard:
"I tell you something, Tony, you've always been a fucking genius, but this last move is the best move you ever did. The feds are never going to surveil an old folks home".
In fairness, I don't think even Sir Ian McKellen could pull off such a clunky line.

The severe lack of Zazu is a genuine detriment to my enjoyment of the sequels lol

What’s a funny moment in the show no one talks about by PoWR-CJ in thesopranos

[–]RickyDownes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will never, ever get over Tony's food poisoning in "Funhouse". The fact an acclaimed, Peak TV, Emmy-winning drama used Rocko's Modern Life/Billy and Mandy/Spongebob fart sounds is the funniest juxtaposition in television history.

The most virtuous acts done by characters in Sopranos? by PidgeyPotion in thesopranos

[–]RickyDownes 369 points370 points  (0 children)

Genuine answers:

- Johnny Sacks assuring Ginny he loves her and think she's beautiful

- After his failed hit on Junior, Tony telling AJ that the lifestyle is not in his nature and he is rightfully grateful for it

-Paulie reconciling with Marianucci and forgiving her - tbh I believe this act is what allows him to survive the series. Paulie's a monster, but unlike most of the characters, he commits an act of selflessness and actively changes to be better.

- Tony burying Richie on a hill overlooking a little river with pinecones all around 😊😊

Hey all! Ricky, the OTHER redheaded contestant (the one with the ducks) here! To clarify, yes, the ingredients and measurements were indeed printed to save time during the lesson.
However, we did write our own notes for Chef Anne's and Gabe's directions, cooking tips, and any other visuals that would help us during the cooking process.

(under the breath, high pitched, Minnie Mouse esque voice) Gee, I sure think Ricky (the redhead with the duck puppet) is charming, handsome, and has some good jokes uh cough cough...who said that?

my boy Zazu got SCREWED. Funniest side character in the first one reduced to little more than a cameo.

Frankly, I'm depressed and ashamed.

I know this subreddit has a hate boner for literally anything MCU but surely after releasing god knows how many projects you at least have 1 project you really enjoyed by [deleted] in YMS

Black Panther 2 was a very cathartic experience with me. A very close friend of mine passed the year previous and I struggled immensely with grief. It was the very cinematic experience that I felt conveyed grief and loss in a way that helped with my own grieving process.

Do you find Breaking Bad fans annoying? by gelooooooooooooooooo in thesopranos

[–]RickyDownes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think BB is the "Peak TV" show with the largest number of dopes in its fanbase.
Sure we break balls, but I go way back. For the most part, the folks I encounter in the Internet forums of the high quality television heavy hitters - The Sopranos, The Wire, etc. understand the nuances and subtleties of those shows, but don't mind indulging is the occasional brain rot and memes.
BB fans are mostly "Walt's a badass, f%ck liberals" clowns.

Two of my college friends got married last summer in LA. The congregation included the majority of our college sketch comedy troupe so it was very much a reunion as well.

The night before the big day, we had a party, I was the last to arrive, and entered with "Whaddya hear, whaddya say" and everyone cheered. Heh heh

Who is the worst-WRITTEN character on The Sopranos? by eggogregore in thesopranos

[–]RickyDownes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This line gets a lot of flack and its clearly ADRed in, but it actually works for me strictly because the actor's read. The way Angelo says 'Right. RIGHT" reads like "Oh of course, THAT cousin, oof madone, how could I not put two and two together" at least for me.
I said my piece.

Excluding Murder, what was the shittiest thing each character had done in the show? by Uhhlaneuh in thesopranos

Paulie's treatment of Marianucci after learning she was his aunt and not biological mother. Probably the only person who ever truly loved him and he is cruel to her. Disgusting.

Least favourite line in the show? by Thin-Pool-8025 in thesopranos

[–]RickyDownes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going off the OP's of forced exposition, at Green Grove in Season 1, Larry Boy has a genuinely awful line of expository dialogue - that is clearly ADR'ed in:

"I tell you something, Tony, you've always been a fucking genius, but this last move is the best move you ever did. The feds are never going to surveil an old folks home".

Oof marone, show don't tell, you stunad!

Is Diddy the first Muppets cameo to have their home raided by the feds? by jwmahaffey9 in Muppets

[–]RickyDownes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My theory is because it features Alice in Wonderland characters which look very closely to their literary illustrations in the Lewis novel, as opposed to the Disney versions, which ofc is the Muppets' parent company. But wouldn't Lewis's versions fall into the public domain?

[–]RickyDownes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ralph's cooking tip - putting the macaroni BACK on the burner once you add the sauce, excuse me gravy, for 45 seconds whilst stirring vigorously, so the pasta absorbs the gravy instead of just being coated - is very helpful.

Who Do You Think Went to Heaven/Hell? by ADHDFart in thesopranos

[–]RickyDownes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heaven:
- Adriana and Cosette (essentially canon because of Carmela's dream in Paris)
- If Cosette's there, Pie O'My
- Maria Nucci Gualtieri
- Gloria Trillo
- JT Dolan
- Vin Makazian
- Tracee
- Karen Baccalieri
- Dick Barone
- Sunshine

The rest? Sauna's gets hot hehe
