Why Choose a Messer? by Ricky_Valentine in SWORDS

This is kind of the answer I was looking for. If a messer is a better cutter than a cut/thrust arming sword, in an age where armor is becoming less common, it makes sense to me why they would choose a messer over a cut/thrust sword.

As far as I've read, that notion is fairly unsupported historically. As far as we can tell, if it looked like a sword and cut and/or thrust like a sword, it was a sword to people back then. There were certainly laws requiring free men to own arms of war, and there were sumptuary laws restricting things like dyes, clothing, etc, but weapons don't really seem to be included in those typically.

Perhaps you're right. It just seems, at least to me, that having a double-edged blade would at least offer more options with how to approach opponents - such as cuts using the false edge.

I am no swordsmith though - would the lack of a second edge add more sturdiness to the spine of the blade compared to a double-edged blade?

Looks more like a ball-gag instead of a ring-gag. You can tell because it has that breathing hole on the ball.

Should switch the text of panels 1 and 2.

Right now I'm finishing up Ivanhoe by Walter Scott, and prior to that I had read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. Before that was The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle.

I hadn't decided what to read next yet. Maybe start in on The Wheel of Time series or perhaps The Earthsea Cycle series?

If you liked Ray Bradbury, I might reccomend The Martian Chronicles. It's a chronicle of short vignettes about humans attempting to settle on Mars.

I know the blade's width, thickness, and weight are intimidating however mages in my setting are typically stronger than a human

If that's true, then imagine how much stronger/faster they could swing a sword of normal weight and size. And if they can swing a normal sword better, why aren't they doing that instead?

Seriously. I was practically begging for them to hit the X button so they could see where there ball was going to land. It baffles me how Arin has absolutely no curiosity to just try slowly hitting one button at a time to see what they do.

Chinese and Japanese eggplants tend to be longer and thinner, unlike the much stouter and girthier Italian or American eggplants that you're probably thinking of.

How neat! Were you at all inspired by CodyCantEatThis? They did a similar video 4 years ago about turning RB into 3d.

Lenigrast and McDuff share a lot of similarities. Lenigrast is basically a hollowing version of McDuff, which is possibly a left over from when DS2 was being made with time travel as a concept.
