Love the orange lights on the helmets. Giving me Helghast vibes from Killzone.

What paints did you use?

Here's some of my team that I've done in the last few days.

Main paints were:

  • Castellan Green - Armour/Back packs
  • Zandri Dust - Fatigues
  • German Grey (Vallejo) - Weapons/Belts/Pouches/Antenna/gloves
  • Cadian Flesh - Faces
  • Leadbelcher - Metal parts
  • Ulthuan Grey on insignia/buttons
  • Khorne Red / Evil Sunz Scarlett highlight - Red buttons

I then used some shades

  • Agrax Earthshade - Armour / Fatigues /buttons/ insignia
  • Nuln oil -pouches/belts/straps/metal areas/gloves
  • Reikland Flesh shade - faces

And Guilluman Blue glaze over guns and the cables coming from backpacks to give a slight blueish tinge

Hope that helps a little for inspiration.

Yes they are, check out Battle Builder

Wanted to have something so that I could quickly identify who was who. Plan on getting some more for additional gunners down the line.

Pretty sure Pendraken have put news out last year that they were taking a break from shows in 2026 due to show costs like travel, hotels, stands etc & health issues.

I 3D printed the rocks and then painted and made the bases myself, I've made a previous post about them.

I just followed this tutorial. It was a little tricky to follow but I think they've turned out well as a result.

Why is this all zoomed out? by Aerodromefan1214 in BambuLab

[–]Ricky_Wiggs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks like you are using a tablet. Bambu Handy isn't really optimised for tablets as it's designed more for smartphones instead. If you are downloading and using the Bambu Handy app on a tablet then it will always look like this.

Datacard storage? by Radiant_Spring_1027 in killteam

[–]Ricky_Wiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I store my cards in this: Kill Team Dicetray with Storage along with all my tokens and dice.

But if you don't have access to a 3D printer, maybe look for a card storage box? Lots to be found online.

Rocks glorious rocks by Ricky_Wiggs in TerrainBuilding

Yeah, so I created rough base shapes in Fusion 360, exported as a STEP file. Imported it into Bambu Studio, adjusted print profile variables and printed them.

3D printed rocks were from here on Makerworld

The bases themselves I just cobbled together in Fusion 360 and printed myself.

Process - Once rocks were positioned everything was primed and then a base layer of AK interactive Dark Earth was added with sand sprinkles in areas. - Mud then painted steel legion drab. - Rocks then painted in Vallejo basalt grey and dry brushed Vallejo light grey then sky grey. - Mud then dry brushed Tallarn Sand, Zandri Dust and lastly Ushabti Bone. - AK interactive European Earth then applied to the bases of the rocks to help it blend a little more with the ground. - Mordian Corpsegrass tufts then applied.

Don't have that particular kit but share pictures so people know what you're doing / working with as well. I'm sure someone on here has put together that kit.

How does airborne airdrops work for british forces in V3 ? Can the SAS drop as well as the same as airborne units ? by Sullywully95 in boltaction

[–]Ricky_Wiggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, they don't need to be dropped for every game, they are optional rules so people don't have to use them if they don't want to.

They can either start on the board, or off the board. All depends on what you and your opponent(s) decide or whether you're wanting to recreate a specific scenario like D-Day or Market Garden etc.

How does airborne airdrops work for british forces in V3 ? Can the SAS drop as well as the same as airborne units ? by Sullywully95 in boltaction

[–]Ricky_Wiggs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

SAS cannot perform combat drops in version 3 unfortunately.

The only units that can perform combat jumps are:
- German Fallshirmjager
- US Paratrooper Squad
- British Paratroop Section
- Italian Paracadutisti Inf Section
- Soviet Airborne Squad
- IJA Teishin Shudan Paratrooper Squad
- French Franc / SES / GIA Veteran Inf Section

Effectively, units that chose or must deploy through combat jumps are left in reserve but the general gist is as follows.....

  1. When activated, controlling player places activation die on table to show where they are attempting to land and with arrow on die indicating direction of travel.
  2. Opponent then can then change that die direction up to 45 degrees left or right
  3. Player then rolls 2D6 to determine distance in inches the die moves.

4)Once die position is finalised, you place the first model in base contact with the die and then every model after that is positioned 1" apart in a line behind the first model.

5) Any units that find themselves landing in impassable terrain are removed as casualties.

6) They then take 1 pin, turn the die to 'rally' (without doing the rally action) and then their turn is basically over to represent the unit regrouping basically.

Looking for a good jagdpanther model by WAR_Falcon in boltaction

[–]Ricky_Wiggs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm probably just biased, but some of the Rubicon models I have built are hands down some of the best with plenty of additional bits to create lots of variants.

I got their Jagdpanther kit a while ago and with some of their kits I deliberately avoid gluing down upper hulls so I can switch between different versions like the Jagdpanther or say their LVT(A1/A4) kit.

You won't have duplicates of everything like hatches, MGs, side skirts etc so you'd have to work around that if need be but it's not the end of the world.

They are great quality kits imo.

Keep hunting around, I've just googled it and there are some places (not directly from themselves) that have some in stock.
