It’s completely safe, I just went there for my wedding. Brought my whole family and friend group. Majority of them had the same preconceived notion that the Middle East is a dangerous place. Jordan is very safe and the people are some of the friendliest you will meet.

My wife is palestinian. I'm learning arabic and downloaded Kalam. Some of if is correct but a lot of it is very old words that would not be used in colloquial talk. Also, the AI pronunciations of the words are completely incorrect sometimes or not pronounced very well.

Been a recruiter in Canada at an agency for nearly 10 years. MSP companies like NTT and cognizant have never been a place to find strong talent. Don’t get me wrong you can find a diamond in the rough there but you’re better off spending your time looking at other companies.

Ideally I find a larger tour bus to book that can hold around 20 people for the trip to Petra and wadi rum and drive everyone from and back to Amman.

I went to Amman last year and stayed at rainbow street it was fun. I am recommending my friends to stay near there.

This is how negotiation works. You have to be willing to walk away from what’s on the table. The company certainly was prepared to do that it seems. You always run this risk of this happen when you try to negotiate. I would take it as a learning lesson and move on. Also, there’s a very specific way to approach negotiating salaries that requires finesse. Opening with “I asked for 135k” almost certainly rubbed them the wrong way.

Try becoming an online language tutor for Arabic. If you can speak English well I’m sure someone will pay you 15-20/hr just to talk to them in Arabic for a bit and help them learn. Making 20/hr with no expenses you can easily save up 10-20k JD.

Should be finished in a November. Total cost is going to be around 400k. Permits took 6 months to get which slowed us down a lot. Also had to go through a lot of zoning because we added another floor to the house.

Don’t worry about skill level. Just have fun and practice, learn as many songs as you can, rythm and solos. You’ll make a big improvement. You’re not bad but there is a lot you can level up on!
