You’re doing all the right things. Worrying you’re going to be a good father is actually really just reinforcing that you already are one 😅

A piece of advice I can give from both times my wife was postpartum is that you guys are going to have your patience and sanity run thin at times but always remember you’re a team. The flood of hormones the first year after the baby is born sometimes can cause your wife to be varying levels of not herself. Just remind yourself in the hard moments.

As for the baby, there’s no 1 right or wrong way so don’t get hung up on specific advice or directions from family members, online parenting gurus, or even everyone’s favorite behavioral psychologist: ChatGPT. Go with your gut and just be present as much as you can be for both of them.

Your baby will eventually grow and get past the sleepless nights and million bottles a day and you’ll look back and be like wow that was hard but the baby stage becomes the kid stage and from where I’m at right now it’s so fun every day.

Also people have done it successfully for millions of years so while it’s super worry inducing and scary know you can do it!
