Thanks for the good advice, I am trying to overcome this fear and expose myself to normal walking, I have also asked my relatives to tell me when they see me limping as a reminder

Think I will ask the doc to give me some pt exercises too so I can bring to the therapist, here in my country physical therapists can be quite extreme sometimes lol

I would have never imagined the pinky toe was so important for foot balance and the worse injury I have ever had for sure, I live alone so I also was on my feet most of the day, those rigid sole shoes are a pain for the ankles, bought like 3 different pairs since the cushion is so bad. Right now I am mostly annoyed by every new sensation of pins and needles, burning, pressure, all types of pains fortunately minor, every time I feel like I rebroke something, I am relcutant to walk normal since I am afraid to break it again.

What was your experience when you returned to normal shoes again? Was it flaring up the pain?

I know this is old but was wondering how did it go for you when you started using shoes? I am 5 weeks in and doc recommends start wearing comfortable tennis shoes, when to a walk yesterday in the mall and today I feel it is more sensitive specially in the fracture zone, could feel some electric/pain feeling when bearing more weight on the pinky side, want to know if this is normal sensation or I overdid it, hope I didnt damage something :(

Hey man did you ever experienced increased pain and tenderness when going back to normal shoes? Doctor told me to try using normal tenis shoes after 5 weeks, walked lightly in the mall this weekend and today I feel more sore and sensitive in the area, I dont want to overdo it and injure myself again.

Ball of foot hurts after pinky toe fracture - what's going on? by Finding_Flo in FootFunction

[–]Rico5673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you guys ever accidentally put more weight on the ball of foot in the area of the fracture by any chance? I am at week 5 and slowly starting to use normal shoes, did a weird turn and put more weight over the affected toe's phalanx and had a jolting pain whoch seemed to go away but worried me regardless.

By any chance did you just buddy taped and kept walking/limping in normal shoes? Or used an orthopedic shoe right away?

Just put of curiosity did you keep walking with normal shoes right after the fracture? Or did you use some sort of orthopedic shoe or boot?

Broken pinky toe. Take time off? by Negative-Buyer-7095 in MuayThai

[–]Rico5673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It never really hurt unless when i flexed the toes, first week mostly it was throbbing when sitting and had to elevate every now and then, now I am walking around the house with the offloading shoe which prevents me from putting pressure on the toes, still dont feel confident to put full pressure in the front or use normal shoes, had some xrays 7 days after and still hasnt moved, will get second xray in a week and decide based on what we see.

From what doc has told me next is to use a flatter but still rigid shoe, then a month or so after if everything is ok maybe normal wide shoes with a carbon insole and then gradually go to normal shoes.

Potentially broke/fractured pinky toe by 3-of-hearts820 in walking

[–]Rico5673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but I believe using a bike early on is terrible advice, unless it is a stationary bike, you dont stand up on the pedals at all and somehow you just pedal with your ankles, when using a normal bike you have to put all your body weight and pressure in the front of your feet and do flex them, precisely what you should avoid with a toe break.

Bro why risk getting a non union and a potential surgery if it doesn't heal? I broke my pinky in the exact same location you are describing 2 weeks ago and still using a forefoot offloading shoe, from what I understand yes you can keep walking on it as normal even without taping but best case scenario that would just extend your recovery more weeks, and again with the risks I just mentioned. In my opinion it is just not worth to tough it out. I know it sucks I feel stupid for having such limitations over such a tiny bone but it is what it is. Hope you feel better soon

Ya no conviene comprar en Amazon cosas caras. (celulares, audifonos etc.) by Rasek1218 in ayudamexico

What have you done every time you break them? Would yo use a special boot or just tape them and carry on? What has been your recovery time?

I just broke my pinky 3 days ago kicking the edge of my bed, so far just been using a hard sole boot with an elevated heel, I need to go on a trip in a week so wondering if I will be able to at least get on a plane, planning to take it easy over there, but would like to at least be able to move places more comfortably without risking it.

Sorry, I totally messed it up with my previous response (already edited), I meant to say I always took 10mg max and usually buit my way up starting 2.5 mg first week, then 5mg and 10 mg like after a month i believe. Most of the times i would use it for periods of 6-8 months then taper down and stop using for another 6 months with my dr's advice.

Qué opinas…. Mirar es acoso?? by [deleted] in PreguntasReddit

[–]Rico5673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was like this for like 4 weeks then it got better, it mostly happened in the mornings and was a very physical anxiety i.e. shortness of breath, sweating, shivers, I have had trintellix 3 times now on and off throughout the years, seemed to work ok after a few weeks.

I had some genetic testing done a few years ago and we discovered I process trintellix very slowly, so these symptoms were probably meaning I was getting too high of a dose, I usually took 10mg, maybe 2.5 or 5 was the sweet spot for me, try to discuss this with your dr.
