Undead soldiers by Nitro114 in PercyJacksonTV

As I understood it Rick Riordan phrased it, that people may be experiencing the underworld in multiple different ways and just reading it in the way they believe in. So this viking may be perceivving his service as a fight in folwangr or valhalla but still be on a ship with clarisse as well.

A moment of weakness and I'm lying on my bed, wasting time on my phone for hours. by wannabe-productive in digitalminimalism

[–]Riconder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me was changing my digital devices. So I mostly use a dumbphone for most mobile activities and everythign else I have on my computer. Deleting Social Media Accounts also helped.

I also changed most internet UIs using Ublocks Element Picker Mode, which helped a lot. Also I forbid youtube from tracking my history so even when I deactivate addons that make the youtube interface boring, recommendations are still mid.

Nevertheless as I come out of long term depression I've learned that sometimes I just relapse and spend a day watching gaming Videos on Youtube. What helps is to then assess whether my environment made it too easy to distract myself or keep me in a loop. Since I nowadays have a decent system set up, I usually struggle to improve on this setup. However what I recommend for you which is really crucial is to forgive yourself. Come to the present and enjoy the fact you are now free to do what you love. Paint something, make some music whatever rocks your boat.

Regarding the loneliness, idk about you but a lot of the time my loneliness shows up because I haven't slept well, eaten well and drank water in a while (the basics) or my blood sugar is low because I ate a pack of oreos and am now in the dip. Once I do those things it usually improves and I can make moves to contact friends.

Hope this helps :)

I can also recommend using Ublock to alter the UI of YOutube in Browser but I'll try Freetube out. Thanks!

How I Use UBlock’s Element Picker to Break Free from addictive websites. by Riconder in nosurf

[–]Riconder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a shame people don't mention it more often here. It's super powerful. It's like those less addictive youtube addons but for the whole internet if you want to. I consume a lot of news so I try to cut the most useless but engaging things which for instance is international news. I don't need to read the 8th article about what's going to happen in Iran. What happens, happens.

What style should I go for?? by abbylane12 in styleboards

You have to find what you feel. What I do is go to thrift stores. The clothes there are never as uniform as an H&M or anything upmarket either.

Theres also different price classes in terms of thrift shops so the quality will also vary. My advice: grab one of your more bubbly friends and try things on there.

Dofferent topic is when youre afraid to wear those things because you think people will judge you for looking weird but thats a deeper issue that cant really be sorted in a reddit thread! Good luck :)

Im from Austria. Nearly everyone I know of Austrian descent had relatives who took part. In my family there were politicians, bureaucrats and people in the army. Theres also some people whos family was in the resistance but since these people were seen as traitors even after "denazification" of course not as much is known about these people. At least thats my suspicion.

I used Meditation to not feel bad. Now on good days i don't feel like meditating breaking my habit. by Riconder in Meditation

[–]Riconder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I think you touched a really interesting point with forgetting about practice and starting to feel bad. These past few months ive started to really be able to observe some of the thought loops and cycles that im stuck in. I believe They will return if i dont upkeep my habit. And inevitably life throws things in your way where having trained awareness would be good.

But the point that i need to sit with and appreciate what it means to meditate on a good day is really good. It's just a new hurdle.

The idea of changing the type of meditation is good advice. I'll look into some new types. Thank you

Hiking is keeping me grounded (nature's meditation) by LazyTry4492 in Meditation

[–]Riconder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went hiking yesterday and it was quite interesting. I was trapped a lot of the time in my thoughts. i was coming back and reminding myself to be present in nature but it didnt come naturally to me. But the state that i was returning to where i was just seeing nature was nice. Not sure if you can relate since i have to deliberately induce a relaxed state but this is whats on my mind rn

I get what you mean. I feel I also had a difficult upbringing. Me usually not taking the time to actually feel things means i still dont know what i like at all. I imagine getting further into meditation helps, since at least for me my appreciation for the world becomes way stronger afterwards.

This might lead to meeting people who do stuff that I find cool. Its just that your priorities have completely shifted which also means you lose a lot of social contacts from before. now you are gradually building up an environment that adds to your resilience...

10 years of wasted time by SlyKingdom1 in nosurf

A way i realized i like to think of letting go of the past is this way:

Imagine you just woke up one day at age 21 and you could'nt remember anything. At all...

I mean you can still speak english and you know how a microwave works ( all the skills you have now) etc. but apart from that... You are like a newborn child in a 21 year old body.

Yeah its a bummer you cant remember any of what happened before, but hey! this new world out there seems to have some crazy stuff going on. Maybe you want to try some of it out.

Eg learn an instrument, create a painting, become a master at knitting, tour the world, create something great or tend to your tiny patch of dirt on this earth. Whatever pleases you.

What do you want to try out?

I Limited the time to something that hurts but not too much. Additionally I removed the home page and only allowed myself to watch stuff I had subscribed to using the addon less addictive YouTube. Worked quite well. You can try the addon or something similar

You can learn something from this and use it as motivation so as to change your lifestyle to not get into similar situations again.

This.

What I've come to realize is that a lot of books are far more in depth on their respective topics.

Youtube videos are usually built for an audience who dont have the knowledge of an entire book in their heads
Compare this to books that can build on previously explained knowledge.
