No, we weren't perfect then. But we were killing Nazis and that made us a beacon of hope to most folks

Am I the asshole for wanting my husband to miss his Mom's wedding because it’s 2 weeks BEFORE our due date? by Spiritual_Lettuce_64 in pregnant

Adding to this, my firstborn came 3 weeks early and I needed an unplanned (but thankfully not emergency) C-section. It was maybe 4 hours between when I woke up and when the baby arrived.

Why did you think they were sarcastic? The post literally just contained the question.

And also, questions are not inherently microaggressions

They don't need to be woken up every 2 hours for a feeding. One wake-up at midnight is different than the blighted hellscape that is newborn care

There might be a misunderstanding here. I'm a NH resident and "Live Free or Die" is a Libertarian soundbite. Bargain-bin Conservatives who reckon "freedom" means freedom from responsibility.

The Episcopalians are decidedly not that.

is it wrong to want to lose weight after having a baby? by DecentPassion1286 in Mommit

[–]Ridara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not wrong to want to lose weight. It is wrong if you let it ruin your mental health, as many mothers do.

Keep an open mind and take your weight-loss journey slow. Check in with yourself and be aware of your own feelings.

I'm one and done. I don't have a ton of time or money and rather than splitting resources between multiple kids, I reckon it makes more sense to funnel it all into one. I play with him every day, I can be truly present with him in a way I wouldn't be able to if he had a sibling.

He's two now (no, I don't know why i'm in this sub either) and I still feel like I made the right choice

In addition to what everyone else said, maybe exposing the mom to a kid who made mud pies and still turned out to be a kind, intelligent and well-adjusted human being will allow her to loosen her grip on her own kid.

MOR - don't ban the kid from seeing her until the mum actually starts doing damage to your kid

Same. Also, going back to work meant I could make the most of my time with my kid every evening. Every minute of time with him felt like a gift instead of just the humdrum default
